AP.: Virginia Governor Tim Kaine to endorse Obama
RICHMOND - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will get the endorsement of Virginia's governor, Timothy M. Kaine, perhaps as early as the weekend, two sources familiar with the governor said Wednesday.

Hmm, what do you think? Is it too early for endorsements and such for the presidential candidates? I know though that Obama campaigned hard to elect both Kaine and Jim Webb. From what I know, Kaine and Obama are very good friends.

15. Yeah but remember Barack and Hillary are trying to take . . ..
. . .each other out before a single vote is cast. I would be very interested to see what the field looks like by November. They are trying to suck up all of the money and the high level support.

16. They're succeeding, it looks like
Not doing much good for democracy, though, in my opinion, and with no disrespect to you, wndy.

9. I'm just sayin'.....it takes steam out of Kaine's endorsement if you ask me....
cause many will barely remember it come December, when things will be really about to come to a head. but I also understand that it helps Obama's standing in the South....and will possibly bring some folks of color on board who to date have been sticking to Hillary....So that's why I said that whatever makes them happy or think it works is alright with me.

But I still say that the lay of the land is not set yet.....meaning, the issues of importance have not yet been made themselves totally known. Hell, Bush could engineer another attack on our soil while McCain is the nominee on the Repug side and than what?

Realizing that Obama has a plan for Iraq that has everyone out by March of 2008 (right after the primaries are over coincidently) ....he may feel that makes sense...but BushCO. has a long time to f*ck with us as well as a lot of countries till then; namely Iran.

But then, what do I know?

7. I think money is playing a huge factor in the endorsement race
I think endorsements help with fundraising and adds some credibility to campaigns. But I agree though that this campaign cycle seems very early by most standards.

3. Has Harkin endorsed anyone?
There's an endorsement that might actually matter. I have a feeling he'll endorse BO.

10. Headline: "White Leader Endorses Obama, Showing Obama's Strength in the White Community."
Naah. They only write stupid headlines like this about black people. White people are treated as individuals.

12. Not too early if they're good friends and Obama helped him
out, perfectly understandable why he would. It may have been a previous agreement between the two. That's politics.

17. Agreed, which is why they need to raise an obscene amount
of money just to even be in contention. If we don't do something about these election laws, our Democracy is toast.
