Poll question: '08 Primary Poll! Because we can't do this enough!
That's right. As long as we're going to ask who you like several times a day, I'm going to do a primary poll of everyone I'd like to see in the primary. Your favorite isn't here? No "other" option this time; pick from those in the poll.

Step outside that box. Just who WOULD you support, if there were no corporate donors, corporate media, thinktanks, pacs, or other power-hungry organizations to decide who the "real" candidates ought to be? What if, horror of all horrors, your choices were limited by someone else?

15. 40 % of the choices are white guys.
Which one?

Hispanics aren't represented. Perhaps I should have replaced a couple of white guys with someone brown. Who are some good choices?

I'm not sure I could vote for any of the candidates listed.

19. I figured that.
The kidding, part, I mean. :7
I would cheerfully vote for many on this list, while the typical '08 polls leave me cold. Go figure.

11. I already know DU prefers Gore,
overwhelmingly, even in comparison to the "big 3." I like Gore, myself.

The choices offered, and, in some polls, the way the question/s are worded, manipulate the polling results.

So why give poll results any weight at all?

While this poll is obviously not a serious poll, since most of the candidates offered have expressed no interest in the '08 primary, it certainly illustrates that point.

It's also interesting to see how Democrats respond to a poll offering only unabashedly liberal/left candidates. Will the responses indicate that the democratic party is not nearly as "liberal" as the opposition accuses, or as some candidates claim?

6. In my head and heart,
Al Gore.
In the poll, Bernie Sanders. The Leftest of the Lefties listed.

14. That's the point.
In my heart, the leftest of the lefties are better choices than those crowned by the more powerful.

In my head, Gore is far and away the best choice out of the anointed.

I just don't like being limited by those the powerful anoint.

It makes me feel patronized, marginalized, disenfranchised, and taken for granted. It makes my pov, and my vote, less than respected.

It makes me less likely to vote for an anointed one.

18. Understood.
That's why I gave two answers.
I voted for Kucinich in my state primary in 2004. If Gore doesn't run, I'll do it again.

12. That's right.
The entity that creates the poll gets to decide.

Why, exactly, do we allow that in real time?

If you'd like Poland, here's your poll like this:

Which nation should we vote in to conquer and reform the corrupt political process in the U.S.?

Poland

Canada

Venezuela

Navajo

Hopi

Sioux

13. I like that choice.
Why do you think it is vilified as a choice when the poll offers Clinton, Edwards, and Obama?

If it isn't an appropriate choice then, I guess it can't be appropriate now, either.

16. Wes Clark (but I voted here for Maxine Waters)
'Cause at least she listens to Clark, and quotes him on TV.
(Actually, Barbara Lee has been listening to Clark too, but I just haven't heard from her lately.)

But take away the corporations and all their poodles and I'd still be backing Wes.
