Maybe the discussion went something like this.
“Would the distinguished Senator from the great state of stupor mind if we suspended the Constitution?”

“Now why would we want to do that distinguished colleague Senator?”

“It is only temporary until terrorism is stamped out throughout the World, my greatest distinguished person”.

“But distinguished Senator isn’t that a bit drastic? Suspending the Constitution? I am not sure the voters will like that.”

“The voters? Ho ho, yes the voters. That’s a good one Senator. I have personally checked with your corporate sponsors and they are 100 billion, I mean 100 percent in favor.”

“Oh ok, well count me in distinguished holy Senator. Yes I believe the Country can get along just fine without a middle class. After all the middle class is so…....so…..”middle class. Another martini Senator.”
