women belong at home, NOT running the country!!
don't flame me, just posting this for your amusement--THIS is the kind of bigoted, fundy crap I have to put up with here in red, fundieville:

Wanda Rohlman

Manitou Springs

Innkeeper

If the presidential elections were today, who'd get your vote? I'm not all that sure who's running. If Bush were running, I'd vote for him again.

What candidate would you absolutely not vote for? I'd never vote for a woman. We don't need females in the presidency. Their place is running families, not running our country. I have no idea at this point whom I'd vote for, but I know for a fact it wouldn't be Hillary.

Can Obama win, being black? It's possible. Part of it depends on his background — if he's been in the service, or if he's done something heroic.

If you could pick the next president, who would it be? Bush again. He hasn't done such a bad job. He's not going to please everybody. I don't approve of everything that's happened in Iraq, but my daughter and son-in-law both served there, and it's better than just sitting around talking.

"having 5 children in 6 years was the best training to be Speaker of the House" !

People should read her bio, amazing woman our Nancy!

18. Heroic? Like getting daddy to get you into the National Guard and then deserting?
Like getting 5 deferrments like our VP did?

Like getting your daddy to bail you out of any trouble you got yourself into?

Since when did our Pres and VP do anything heroic?

21. Oops
I've known women to be brainwashed to believe that--until their husband, father, etc, decides they need more income, and then they go to work--and hand over all their money to their menfolk.

Yes, I do have my own shop, and no, Hubby is not allowed to use the power tools. (He has some neuropathy, and the last thing I want him to do is hurt himself.)

15. Her daughter should be home taking care of her family
According to those backwoods people, their daughter should have never been allowed in a "man's world."
I keep forgetting, the republicans are on a one street all the time. "Don't do what I do, but be damned sure to do what I SAY." No wonder our country is in such a sorry mess.:+ :+ :+ :puke:

and the Senate.

I had a bookmark that said that back in the 70s.

I would now respectfully add "the White House."

22. Wanda is full of bullshit
McCaskill, Bowen, Schakowsky, Napolitano, Sebelius, Boxer, Mikulski, Pelosi, Granholm...there's a long list of powerful women in various segments of our government (and at different points in their political careers) who, although not perfect, have done a competant and decent job of governing and legislating.

23. Can you imagine if a black person were quoted (with a photo too)
Edited on Sun Feb-18-07 08:00 PM by spooky3
saying blacks had no business running for President and s/he would never vote for one?

People would (correctly) think that person was self-loathing, racist, a product of a racist society, and/or mentally ill.

on edit: Of course some freepish types would think s/he was "one of the good ones" and absolutely right.

We know how they lean.

Your daughter and son-in-law getting shot at is better than sitting around talking?

Perhaps, if everyone in your family is as erudite as you, Wanda!

31. That merited a Letter to the Editor...below
Wanda Rohlman of Manitou Springs needs to take off her rose colored glasses concerning President Bush "he hasn't done a bad job." You really are kidding aren't you?

Wanda, in case you haven't noticed, Bush has completely trashed this country in 6 years. We are fighting an illegal war with an enemy that had nothing to do with the plotting of 9-11, we have amassed enormous debt that will take generations to pay off. The dollar is the weakest it has ever been, traveling overseas is crushing for most Americans. The housing market and the economy are crashing, millions of Americans have lost their jobs or been outsourced overseas. China owns the US because of our disgraceful banking policies. The USA has lost its moral compass and the rest of the world thinks we are nuts.

Tell me, what about this do you think translates into a good performance record for George W. Bush?

Shaking my head at the ignorance America,
