this "give it one more chance" has swayed some.

.......Still, while Bush faces heavy opposition to his plan to increase troops, he's gained some support since early January, when 26 percent favored the plan. A new AP-Ipsos poll, out Friday, said that more than a third — 35 percent — now favor the increase. Bush has gained ground among key groups of supporters like Republicans, whites, men and Southerners.

It may be a temporary uptick.

"You're going to have to see some progress on the ground, but it's not going to happen overnight," said GOP pollster Ed Goeas.

Goeas said polls are misleading and a lot depends on how the questions are asked.

He said that in his polling, a slight majority of Americans still say they either support Bush's buildup or at least keeping troops there until Iraq "is stable." Those favoring a date-certain withdrawal, or an immediate pullout, are in the minority.

2. The campaigning is over, now the gov't controlled / MSM / right wing radio spin takes over
This is why having scant majorities in the houses isn't enough. We need to take back the media.

4. Still, it's only 35 percent.
Compare that to the Bush approval ratings, and it's pretty similiar. Basically it's all the Republicans who will stick with Bush and defend him if he admitted to killing babies and torturing animals. The fact that 35% of Americans would think adding more troops into harms way with targets on their backs just shows the ignorance of some Americans.

No more troops, no more war. Get a real plan to end this war, and bring our troops home from this tragic and bloody mess.

6. 65% OPPOSE
This headline is just as accurate, and conveys the TRUTH better than this miserable, Orwellian, piece of shit article. You could also phrase as two thirds of Americans oppose the surge which, in Congress, would be enough to override a presidential veto.

The fairness doctrine needs to be brought back and the media needs to be broken into a thousand pieces under anti-trust law.

7. since the troops are already on their way
I think it's more of a "support the troops" thing. I'm surprised it isn't higher, actually. A 9% point increase is actually not good news for BushCo, IMO.
