An Observation: Looks Like Its A "Rush To The Right" On The Repug Side Of '08.....
candidates. Which one can get the furthest to the right in order to be elected. War, abortion, stem cell rx, gun control......

The funniest things I read is that Mitt joined NRA in August (a previous advocate of gun control)and McCain said Rumsfeld was one of worst defense secretaries in history and Giuliani promising to appoint more Scalias.

Flip floppin has a whole new meaning.

You gotta love it!!!!

1. They're Republics, though
They don't flip-flop. It's a strategic re-evaluation of their position based on a long and careful consideration of the changing situational dynamics.

3. Yeah, they're showing true leadership!
Only a true leader can change his mind. Unless they are a Democrat. :sarcasm:

2. A pretty natural reaction, I'd say.
Chimpy stands as a testament to the failure of conservative/neocon philosophy. They could never admit that, so naturally it's going to be spun as "Well, Georgie wasn't a TRUE conservative, but I am!"

4. rove/bush always pandered to the right but it was never groveling and always
left room for them to play the centrist card.

these guys are snuggling in bed with the craziest part of the right and there are pictures. not subtle, no room for ambiguity.
I think for every vote it gets them they will lose 1-2 votes with those they offend.

Polls must be telling them something. A dwindling further shifting Right Conservative base, is that what they are going for?

6. Good, this insane pandering to the nutcases will be
great ammunition come the general election. I hope someone at the DNC is taking notes and amassing soundbites.
