The BBC details Bush's likely plan of attack, should he decide to use military force against Iran:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3123191The report describes two potential "triggers" for a US attack on Iran, proof "that Iran was developing a nuclear weapon" or "a high-casualty attack on US forces in neighbouring Iraq ... if it were traced directly back to Tehran."
If the latter claim is true — that Bush will start a new war based on "evidence" of Iran inflicting major casualties on US troops in Iraq — his comments in last week's
press conference suggest that Mr. Resolute is well on the way to pulling the trigger:
"I can say with certainty that the Quds force, a part of the Iranian government has provided these sophisticated IEDS that have harmed our troops."
"To say it is provoking Iran is just a wrong way to characterize the Commander-in-Chief's decision to do what is necessary to protect our soldiers in harm's way."
"We do know that they're there, and I intend to do something about it, and I've asked our commanders to to something about it, and we're going to protect our troops."
"What matters is is that we're responding."
What matters is is that our president is is completely out of his mind. The mind boggles at how much more toxic the Middle East would become for U.S. interests should The Decider embark on a series of strikes in Iran. Can you say "caliphate"?
