A story about polls
This was told to me over the weekend at the Va. Jefferson/Jackson dinner. I can't verify its authenticity (or its uniqueness)but....

Jim Webb is meeting with some campaign pros. This at the very beginning of his race for the Democratic nomination. He has no campaign money in the bank and the people in the room are about the only people who are aware that he is running.

He asks for a number. Give him a number based on his name and experience and the number of people in the race right now, give him a number what percentage of the vote could he get right now.

The answer comes back---- 12%

Webb says "Okay at this point I can run on 12%"
