Voters not likely to remember Clinton-Obama spat.
CNN: Will anyone remember this Obama/Clinton spat?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The high-profile spat between Sens. Clinton and Obama Wednesday is the latest sign the race for the White House has reached a feverish pitch even as the first wave of primaries are 11 months away, political analyst Stuart Rothenberg tells CNN.

"I think the whole flap is a reflection of the competitiveness of the race, the intensity at this early point, and the lessons that have been learned by candidates and political strategists that if you are attacked or criticized, you've got to attack immediately back," he said.

But are voters likely to remember this spat when most of them begin to follow the candidates closely in nine or ten months? Not likely.

"That today this looks like a big deal- it's the hot story," Rothenberg said. "Everybody is talking about it. But there are going to be dozens, hundreds, of hot stories between now and the end of the year."

"And I think this will be a blink come November and December, when Iowa and New Hampshire voters really start to focus on the campaign, and the election, and who they're going to support," he added.

9. ah, the Media Heathers at it again
Unfortunately the MSM hasn't graduated beyond junior high school gossip either; no worries, they are distracted by shiny objects and will move on to Britney soon.

4. I think the score is:
Obama 1, Hillary 0

Even though I support Obama, I think people probably think Senator Clinton was a little too sharp-elbowed in her attack on Obama because someone else (Geffen) made statements about the Clintons.

The fact that Obama didn't apoligize gave him extra points for those still unfamiliar with him.

If I was within the Clinton camp, I'd tell MacAuliffe to start drinking decaf.

7. it is slightly groovy
... to see newbie Obama hold his own against the Clinton machine. This match-up is the best thing to happen to the Democratic Party. It will hone one fine candidate.

8. The problem is more that the race has begun so early...
...and so much money is needed to run. Even though I wasn't particularly a fan, it is tragic that someone like Vilsack had to drop out, mostly due to the money.

I'm glad the media is covering even this past week's events...that's an improvement over 2004 where the campaign was pretty much blacked out until the fall of 2003.

It's going to be a wild rollercoaster ride.
