What I Want In 2008
Edited on Fri Feb-23-07 01:44 PM by ChipperbackDemocrat
This is what I will vote for in 2008.

1. Any man or woman who says, "I have an agenda to build an America for the 21st Century but we all have to pay for it. Everybody taxes will go up starting with the top 1% DON'T LIKE IT? TOUGH!"

2. I will vote for any man or woman who will support Universal Health Care and will tell the American People, "If you want it YOU BEST DAMN WELL VOTE FOR IT! And vote for a Congress who wants it as bad as you do."

3. I will vote for any man or woman who tells the truth about why we are in Iraq, "It simple, my fellow Americans...You can either have peace or your SUV You can't have both. If you really want the troops home, then I want America to have the best railways in the world in 4 years. I want America's cities to have the best mass transit in the world. I want to cut our dependence on foreign oil 50% per year every year. I want to build a country that is energy efficient to the point where we can give Osama bin Laden the finger, because we don't need his oil. Energy efficiency is the moral equalvalent to war. Jimmy Carter was never more right than when he said that. If you do not believe in that, then war is the only answer."

4. I will vote for any man or woman who tells the truth about Iran. "My fellow Americans, I will visit with President Ahmadinejad. There is a weakness in avoidance, and the United States of America has been ran by weakness for far too long. I will got to Tehran and deliever the simple message. The world wants to leave the nuclear era behind, you can join us. But if you want your weapons, that's fine. If you want to use those weapons, you risk American irradiation of your country."

5. I will vote for any man or woman who is willing to not get on their knees to corporations, period. They pay their share of the freight, for a change. CEOs are making obscene monies and workers are being downsized and farmed out. That includes launching the legal actions and penalties necessarily to curb illegal immigration at the point of demand, i.e. the companies shipping people in.
A great President said, "Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

That same President said, "Any man who claims to love American but not love labor is a liar."

6. I will vote for any man or woman who is willing to fight for crime policy that makes real sense. "Here's my anti-crime program. You see that energy efficiency I talked about early, that will provide millions of new jobs...or and since I have a goal of America leading the world in building a post-oil economy? That means innovation which means, we need education...Hmm more people working, more people educated...hmmm, sounds like people are going to be too busy to go to jail and that's a tax break...less corrections you have to pay for...Makes sense don't it!"

7. I will vote for any man or woman who is willing to fight for a Human Rights Amendment. "If we believe in it as a nation, why not just codify it for all time and defend it, period."

8. I will vote for any man or woman who makes the following statement a top priority of their administration from the beginning. "My first act as your President will be to call for immediate emergency action to clean up the eyesore that was caused by Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans and the Gulf Coast will not America's Pripyat. And no American city of state will NEVER have to wait for it government to act in the interests of it people on my watch."

9. I will vote for any man or woman who calls for American leadership in international initiative to deal with hunger, water, land reform, and public health in a manner contra to the edicts of the IMF and the corporate classes. "It is time to develop the world in a manner that doesn't keep people POOR! The United States of America was born on the principle that all men are created equal"

10. I will vote for any man or woman who ultimately put the responsibility squarely on the shoulders of the people of this country...all of the people. "My fellow Americans, what nation do you want is the question of this year. Our opponents have sold you decades of pie in the sky...and where is your piece of that pie? The Freeloader Republicans have had their way and what have they done with it? It is time to stop looking for pie in the sky and start making our own pie. We will have to work to make it, but when its done, all Americans will get their piece of it."

Since our opposition likes scripture so much...here's one of my favorites...If a man shall not work, THEN NEITHER SHALL HE EAT."

"My fellow Americans, they've been eating on your labor for too long. Its time for us to get to work."

That's what I want in 2008. :)
