4. Article on the rally from the Austin American Statesman
Crowd of about 10,000 rallies for Obama
Presidential hopeful's charisma, 'X factor' cited

About 10,000 people, many hunched under umbrellas in an intermittent rain, watched bands perform this afternoon while awaiting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama at Auditorium Shores.

Before Obama took the stage, the event was more like a music festival than a political rally. People of all ages attended, from toddlers to senior citizens. People tossed balls or threw flying discs while a band called Tribe 13 played. Some climbed trees to get a better view.

Ian Davis, founder of Texans for Obama, said the Illinois senator has a hopeful, optimistic message.

Davis said he thinks Hillary Rodham Clinton is a fine presidential candidate but Obama "has got some X factor. There's something magnetic about him. It's something that inspires you to be a better person."

He said most presidential candidates dismiss Texas because its primary is not until March. "The fact that Obama decided to do a grassroots rally with the people shows his commitment to the people," Davis said.

7. Does he get to sleep? He's been traveling 24-7
I can't imagine the stress on presidential candidates and their families to go through these types of grueling campaign schedules. I hope Obama gets some badly needed rest.
