YEAH!! This Is How You Handle Cheney!
Obama ridicules Cheney over comments on Britain and Iraq

Obama, speaking at a massive outdoor rally in Austin, Texas, said British Prime Minister Tony Blair's decision this week to withdraw 1,600 troops is a recognition that Iraq's problems can't be solved militarily.

"Now if Tony Blair can understand that, than why can't George Bush and Dick Cheney understand that?" Obama asked thousands of supporters who gathered in the rain to hear him. "In fact, Dick Cheney said this is all part of the plan (and) it was a good thing that Tony Blair was withdrawing, even as the administration is preparing to put 20,000 more of our young men and women in.

"Now, keep in mind, this is the same guy that said we'd be greeted as liberators, the same guy that said that we're in the last throes. I'm sure he forecast sun today," Obama said to laughter from supporters holding campaign signs over the heads to keep dry. "When Dick Cheney says it's a good thing, you know that you've probably got some big problems."

--snip--

I'm starting to like this guy, he gets it! This is how you handle the big Dick. Ridicule. He deserves no more. When more and more people merely ridicule and ignore him, this pustule of a human being will crack and it will be glorious.

1. I'm liking him more, too
I've been afraid he's too kumbaya to deal with Repukes, but I'm sure rethinking that.

He pounded back at Hillary's people. Not that I think pounding other Dems is a good thing, but I'm sooooo sick of us apologizing when there's no need. Sounds like he won't do it.

3. True,...
--- And ridicule is the proper vehicle,... always. Dignifying republican war arguments by addressing them straight-up is a mistake.

4. Mark Twain Quote
"Power, money, persuasion, supplication, persecution--these can lift at a colossal humbug--push it a little--weaken it a little, century by century, but only laughter can blow it to rags and atoms at a blast. Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand."

9. Good thing Jon Stewart is on our side
--- I'm completely onboard with the use of humor and satire to put the popular perspective on things. Twain was the American Shakespeare.

5. This is what I'm talking about!
I was kind of leaning Edwards, now I'm kind of leaning Obama. I just want the candidate that will fight the hardest against the Reps. The last Presidential campaign literally made me sick to my stomach with all the pandering and meely mouthed speeches and non responses to attacks. It's time for a fighter.

*Even if we lose, we MUST fight back

The only way to defeat a bully is to fight him. You might lose that fight, but you probably won't be bullied anymore. It's time to fight the right-wing attack machine, no matter what!

I'll be looking forward to more things like this from the Obama camp. He can do no wrong as long as he keeps fighting! Against Fox, against Hillary, against *co, against the right-wing.

7. Momma quoted Stephen King on Cheney yesterday
Seems Stephen King calls Cheney "Satan's mentally-challenged older brother." I love that.

8. Yes, that was good. They don't play powder puff politics in Chicago.
I'm starting to like him too.

Steady girl, remember, you are the kiss of death, besides, there's that experience thing.

13. Dick Cheney should be treated as the war criminal that he is.
Edited on Sat Feb-24-07 08:44 PM by Aussie leftie
He deserves no respect what so ever.

During his unwelcome visit to Australia, he made a speech in front of a select right wing audience, and when he said that the allies should stay on the offensive in Iraq, only about 3 people clapped. Imagine the reaction if the audience wasn't hand-picked.

Also, consider this post as a Cheney alert. He is on his way home now. You might want to close down the airports and lock him out, before its too late.

14. I believe our current batch of candidates
... will give BushCo the thorough thrashing they deserve, that which should have been dished up in 2004, but there is plenty more material now.
