My modifications to Wes Clark's StopIranWar letter to *
Edited on Fri Feb-23-07 08:21 PM by aundria75
President Bush, while I understand that the chances of you heeding any demand I make (being only a citizen of these United States, and not a wealthy one, at that) are very small, I demand that you stop the rush to war with Iran. You must use every option available to defuse tensions with Iran -- diplomatic, political, and economic -- before even considering military force. I understand that you are not well-versed in these areas; perhaps you could turn to your Democratic Congress for some inkling of how you should proceed. Military force must be viewed as the last resort -- not the first option, as it was for Iraq. War is not the answer.

Short and sweet and to the point, I think. Hope I don't get disappeared! :hide: LOL

1. Very good.....
Changed my letter as well. Didn't keep a copy of what I said, but I will be writing this weekend to the media on this.

That site has a nice tool to locate your local media. I will use it!

3. Yes, I think I will send it to the local Mis-Leader
as an open letter to Boosh. They won't print it, but then again they didn't print the letter I wrote to McCaskill either. :banghead: How will people ever know their views are not 'crazy' if the media never tells them about the likes of us? :hippie: :silly: :smoke:

I have an e-mail list of about 100-200 names from when I ran a Kerry 08' website a few years ago. Perhaps I'll tap into that!! I think Clark's message has to be heard by as many ears as possible, whether he's running for President or not....this has no agenda. It's the damn truth, and it's the scary truth!! We have to prevent* from EVEN thinking about war with Iran.

If he values his supposed God, he'll stop this madness and not even think about sending anymore of our brave troops into harms way with targets on their backs.

17. Please do send this off to them
Kerry has been one of the strongest Democratic voices for direct talks with our potential adversaries, I think it is appropriate to share this heads up about StopIranWar.com with them. It isn't about Presidential politics with Kerry out and Clark not in, it's just about saving our nation and the world from going through another war.

10. Hell, yeah!
Somebody tell Al to RUN! :bounce:

RUN, AL, RUN!!!!! :patriot: :woohoo:

Would it help if I tattooed it across my forehead?

On an environmental note, I just did this cool thing with CarbonFund. I went CarbonZero for a year and Working Assets picked up an extra five tons of CO2 because I did that. That means that I will NOT be contributing 23 tons of CO2 to the environment this year. Those carbon certificates will be retired, and the slack picked up by renewable energy or efficiency projects. The whole thing is really very cool! I feel so great having done that! And it helps Al Gore to get more recognition for 'An Inconvenient Truth'. Working Assets and Act for Change are publicizing this for Al's nomination for an Oscar. Here's a bit of the latest email:

Earlier this week, we asked you to make a donation to Carbonfund.org in honor of Al Gore's Oscar nomination. The response has been phenomenal -- so far, the Working Assets community has offset over 14 million pounds of CO2. That's 14 million pounds of carbon dioxide that will either be sequestered through reforestation, or prevented from ever being produced through renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

Help us get to 20 million pounds. Offset two tons of carbon dioxide emissions for just $11 with the non-profit Carbonfund.org -- or share this message with your SUV-owning, guilt-ridden friends and ask them to do their part.

Do it for Al -- go carbon-neutral today!

11. Great interview with Clark and Solz (VoteVets.org) on Bloggers' radio....
The 2nd half made me really sad. Young men and women being used as fodders led by a commander in chief without a clue. It is so tragic! Bush is affecting future generations with his actions in the past 6 years. It will take much for us and the world to recover.

22. Final draft submitted to Springfield News-Leader 2-24
President Bush, while I understand that the chances of you heeding any demand I make (being only a citizen of these United States, and not a wealthy one, at that) are very small, I demand that you stop the rush to war with Iran. Already, we are encountering faulty intelligence and the same saber rattling we heard in the run up to the Iraq invasion. You must utilize every option available to calm rising tensions with Iran, including diplomatic, economic, and political actions or sanctions, before even considering military force. I understand that you are not well versed in these areas; perhaps you could turn to your Democratic Congress for some inkling of how you should proceed. Use of military force must be understood to be the last resort -- not the first and only option, as it was for Iraq. War is not the answer.
Remember Mr. Bush, that while you may believe yourself to be 'The Decider,' you are, in fact, an employee of the U.S. People. We want our troops home NOW. We DO NOT ACCEPT war with Iran. War is not the answer.
