Whistle-blower AT&T technician Mark Klein says his effort to reveal alleged government surveillance of Internet traffic was blocked not only by U.S. intelligence officials but also by the top editors of the Los Angeles Times.

was known as a more liberal newspaper. True? Or false?

Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if the editors had some pressure put on them. Actually, I think I've read tinfoil that the government places operatives specifically at newspapers for such "pressuring". Isn't there a rather famous CIA project name that allegedly did precisely that?

Edited to add, I remembered its name: "Operation Mockingbird."

Now that I think of it, it strikes me that a lot of "mocking" happens on Internet discussion boards these days.
