FLORIDA! District 13 Update... Got This Email & I Hope It Gets Read!!!
While I was in D.C. for the March, I stayed a couple of days longer and decided to visit the Senate. I went to Bill Nelson's office to get some passes and was told the Senate wasn't in session, but it was. They asked me where I was from so I simply said Katherine Harris. I told them how disgusted I was about our still "undecided" or "unfinished" election and even though Nelson wasn't there, his office said outright... "Well, it's not over yet!" That surprised me because I didn't really think Nelson cared or even knew it was still going on, but guess I was wrong. THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T OVER!! So, here is more info on the 2nd Katherine Harris by name of Kathy Dent and their underhanded means of operating!! And yes, I went to Buchanan's office to get a pass to the House, but didn't go there.

They Knew Something Was Wrong!

Finally, the truth is starting to come out.

We just discovered that Kathy Dent, the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections knew two months before the election that the electronic voting machines were flawed. In a letter dated August 15th, ES&S, the company that manufactures the voting machines, warned the supervisor's office of an "issue" with the voting machines. The letter indicated that its voting machines, deployed all across the country, were showing "slow response times" and required a patch in order to correct the problem. But ES&S never sent the patch, and Kathy Dent never asked for it. She just ignored the warning and used the faulty machines anyway.

This is why our fight is so important! Widespread machine malfunction caused thousands of votes to go unrecorded and undeniably affected the outcome of the election. The collective will of the voters in Florida's 13th District was not heard on Election Day and the only reasonable solution is to have a new election.

Will you help us fight for a re-vote by contributing $500, $50, or even $10 right now? Please give whatever you can. I need your help!

ES&S not only sent a letter to Kathy Dent, they also sent a warning poster, which they suggested be posted at every polling place. The poster was intended to notify voters of the possibility of delayed screen responses. For some reason, however, Kathy Dent decided that voters didn't need to be warned about the potential for machine error.

What is perhaps most outrageous in all of this, though, is that Kathy Dent withheld this letter from discovery requests made by our legal team in order to cover up the fact that her office knew of a potential problem before the election. We only learned of the existence of the letter after it was posted on an activist group's election reform website.

This is our chance to fight for the re-vote the voters of Florida 13 deserve.
Please make a contribution. I can't do this without you.

This fight is far from over. We still have a case pending in the Florida courts and our case in Congress has yet to get started. But now we have proof that something was wrong with the voting machines. We need your support to correct this injustice. Please join the fight!

Thank you for your support!

7. It's Her Campaign, Her Logo From Her Web-Page Is Still There
at the bottom. She swore not to give up. People are still working on this and the local Democrats are still involved. But it's costing soooooooooooo much money to fight them!

4. What in the hell is wrong with the people in FL? Are they ALL
just weird? First it was the Dem. nittwitt that designed the butterfly ballot, then you have the obviously insane Katherine Harris, Jeb is just insane because it's inheritted, and now you have another Harris clone named Kathy Dent who in incapable of doing a very simple part of her job.

What is it? Is it the heat? Is something in the water? It seems like nobody wants to or is capable of doing even ahalf a**ed job!

6. If I Had A Dollar For Everytime That Questioned Has Been Asked I
just might have a small nest egg! From my little cat-bird seat, I would say it all started with four letters....

B-U-S-H!!

Then just add all the rest of the corrupt Evil Empire and you have it in a nutshell! Kathy Dent, if it's at all possible is WORSE than Cruella! She's just down right NASTY! Try calling her office sometime and ask for her. IF you are lucky enough to get through, she'll just blow you off!

Now just think for a minute what it feels like living here. I've said it hundreds and hundreds of times. For a while, I simply lived in the Trifecta of Corruption! The Idiot Ass-hole in the WH & The DICK as side-kick, his Arrogant brother in The Florida Mansion AND Cruella as my Representative in Congress! I sometimes wonder how I've stuck it out!

Think of the OUTRAGE we here at DU feel each and everytime we hear of another scandal implicating the WH and see that NOTHING sticks. Then just add all the rest of the crap that goes on down here and it's a wonder many of us have any hair left on our heads!!

You know you're in trouble when all you do is scream at your T.V when you know it CAN'T HEAR YOU!!

9. Oh hell, I scream at my TV ALL THE TIME! Especially when
Shrub is on!

I'm sorryif I offended your home State, and I actually had a glimmer of hope a week or so ago when your NEW Governor made a statement that actually made sense and was a good idea! I think it was something about the voting machines.

I just find it impossible for ONE State to have sooo many incompetent people in their employ. It wasn'ta LONG time ago when there were several scandals about the total imcompetence of the child welfare agency. For God sake, the were LOSING KIDS!

12. You Didn't Offend My Home State! My Husband Was Born Here...
not me! I'm a Heinz 57! My father was in the Army and I was born in PA, landed in Texas and graduated from THAT crappy state and then we moved here.

Being an Army brat means you go where they send you. The first 3 years of my life were spent in PA, and then it was Germany and other places! I swore from the time I could remember that I would NEVER marry a military man! And I didn't.... married my husband to keep him from getting drafted into the Viet Nam War. HOW we are still together is something I don't completely understand because I SURE WASN'T ready to get married when I did. I had just barely turned 18!

Wars make you do strange things!

10. I'm sorry. All I ever heard or read stated that she was a Dem, and
I had no way of knowing anything different. All the media kept sayingshe was a Dem and, honestly, I never heard anyone dispute that.

The More You Watch the Less You Know

Listen to Segment http://play.rbn.com/?url=demnow/demnow/demand/old/dn971219.ra&start=41:48

The more you watch, the less you know -- that's the slogan that many believe best describes the present state of the mass media. It's also the title of a new book out by journalist Danny Schecter.

Guest:
Danny Schecter, a journalist and TV producer. He is the co-founder and executive producer of Globalvision, a New York-based television and film company now in its tenth year, and which produced the award winning series "South Africa Now and Rights & Wrongs: Human Rights Television". For eight years prior to that, he was a producer at ABC's 20/20, where he won two National News Emmys. He is the author of The More You Watch the Less You Know.

11. Very True! Very True! And I Actually Voted For Jan Schneider
in the primary. Don't like what they did to JAN, but I can't remember EVER having a "hint" of a Democrat as a Representative.

But I will have to say this... Buchanan is just what he is, a CAR SALESMAN, and I think she might have beat him as a Repuke had she not "switched!"

Whatever her motives, people around here don't just run as a Democrat to win! Democrats DON'T win around here! That's why there's such a fight going on.... we'll take the (D) just because it's a (D)!

I just want Buchanan to get his come-uppance and have his fat ass sent back to Bradenton!! Other than that, it just might open up a crack in the door for a REAL Democrat some day.
