Panel Said to Alter Finding on Voter Fraud

WASHINGTON, April 10 — A federal panel responsible for conducting election research played down the findings of experts who concluded last year that there was little voter fraud around the nation, according to a review of the original report obtained by The New York Times.

Instead, the panel, the Election Assistance Commission, issued a report that said the pervasiveness of fraud was open to debate.

The revised version echoes complaints made by Republican politicians, who have long suggested that voter fraud is widespread and justifies the voter identification laws that have been passed in at least two dozen states.

Democrats say the threat is overstated and have opposed voter identification laws, which they say disenfranchise the poor, members of minority groups and the elderly, who are less likely to have photo IDs and are more likely to be Democrats.

Some scholars and voting advocates said that the original report on fraud, for which the commission paid the authors more than $100,000, was less rigorous than it should have been. But they said they did not believe that was the reason for the changes.

They not only sanction elections conducted on Bushite-corporate controlled voting machines, run on "TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code, with virtually no audit/recount controls, and secret industry "testing" of the machines, they played a scumbag role in the "swiftboating" of one of the most honest election officials in the country--Kevin Shelley, former Sec of State of Calif. When Shelley was hit with entirely bogus corruption charges, after he had sued Diebold, decertified their touchscreens and demanded to see their source code, six months before the 2004 election, highly corrupt county election officials--led by Diebold shill Connie McCormack of Los Angeles--the war profiteering corporate news monopolies, and traitorous or cowardly state Democratic Party leaders, began trying to drive him from office, and they were aided by the EAC which added their threat to investigate him. Shelley had no personal money, and no legal defense fund (tells you something about Shelley), and couldn't do his job with all this harassment--and was forced to resign. Schwarzenegger replaced him with Diebold shill Bruce McPherson, who illegally re-certified Diebold touchscreens and began to undo all of Shelley's reforms.

That's the EAC. On cue, they came in to inflict the final blow. We now have a good Sec of State again--Debra Bowen--one of the miracles of the '06 election (the people outvoting the machines). But for a while California was one of the black holes of Bushite election theft. I think the infamous recall was stolen. I think the Bilbray/Busby election in San Diego was stolen. I think they shaved votes from Kerry and gave them to Bush in Republican counties in California--to help manufacture and pad Bush's national popular majority in '04. And who knows what else? Probably every Republican election in this state is questionable. Duke Cunningham. Jerry Lewis. Where do these dirtbags come from? They come to us compliments of Diebold and ES&S and their corrupt co-conspirators in our government.

It's no surprise to me at all that the EAC are also dirtbags on phony "voter fraud." This was the cover--and such typical Rovian cover, too--for the hijacking of our country by BUSHITE-CONTROLLED ELECTION THEFT MACHINES. It's a low level street crime scam called "distraction." Writ large.
