I know this is a tragedy of huge proportions. I know it is heartbreak and there will be blame and sorrow all around.

But, not to sell them short, there are other tragedies of immense proportion, huge, nasty and affecting the present and future of millions. They are turning a horrid catastrophe into a wall to wall distraction from the other issues that desperately need attention and cheapening it in the process.

We know this is either on orders, through management, to give the white house some breathing room or else an attempt on their own, to curry favor by doing so.

We are being used. Again.

Wall to wall Anna Nicole, wall to wall Imus, now wall to wall shooting tragedy. I will not be turning on the news this afternoon. There's only so much one can say.

6. You're right. . There's no proportionality in coverage. .

There seems to be this rule; "Thou shall not tell more than one story a day" that all the stations adhere to.

I think that stories ought to get coverage in direct proportion to the number of people whose lives they directly effect, or may effect.
