David Broder claims Harry Reid is "Democrats' Alberto Gonzales" (WaPo)
Edited on Thu Apr-26-07 09:55 AM by Sparkly
Give this one points for creative effort! It's the old "I know you are but what am I" game the Republicans use so often, stretched beyond the limits of a straight face.

You know -- "Clinton did it, too!" And "Both sides are wrong!" And "Maybe there are questions about Bush's military service, but there are questions about Kerry's too, so let's just say they both served honorably and drop the subject."

What can they grasp as an equivalent to Gonzales, and his role in scandals, coverups, and blatant lies?

Oh yes, Harry Reid!

Here's a Washington political riddle where you fill in the blanks: As Alberto Gonzales is to the Republicans, Blank Blank is to the Democrats -- a continuing embarrassment thanks to his amateurish performance.

If you answered " Harry Reid," give yourself an A. And join the long list of senators of both parties who are ready for these two springtime exhibitions of ineptitude to end.

11. Broder reminds me of a former big league star who continues
to knock around the minors hoping against hope that he can regain his fastball. He has become a pathetic shell of what once was a pretty good newsman. His reputation is being destroyed by his own foolishness and the wrecking crew that is the Bush regime. How sad to fall from being the Dean of the DC Press Corps. to the comic but destructive bush league Bushie that he has become.

12. Here's what you should write, Mr. Broder
"I'm so wrapped up in the cocoon of the so-called Washington Elite Power Players that I can't distinguish my ass from elbow anymore."

I think this column is a cry for help, couched in the only way Broder can think of to get the message out anymore. Do they do involuntary commitments in DC?

16. Heh -- A few random examples...
This is the most desperate, disingenuous, convoluted analogy I think Ive ever seen. Utterly pathetic and completely wrong.

You are a moron. Time for you to retire.

By goteed1 | Apr 26, 2007 9:59:12 AM

Reid was not wrong about the war, nor was he wrong about Greenspan being a hack. But you Mr Broder have been wrong about mostly everything. This country deserves better pundits than you.
