Say what you will about Newt Gingrich, he is a political genius and the one person who did most to help the GOP take control of Congress in 1994. Beside organizing them and keeping them on the attack, Gingrich's largest contribution that year was his infamous "word list".
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article4443.htm We need to do the same thing by using certain words to *constantly* describe Republicans.
Here is a website I ran across that seems to have a similar idea.
"...In 1990, Newt Gingrich published a booklet he called "Language: A Key Mechanism of Control". He mailed his little manifesto to Republican leaders throughout the land and encouraged them to "paint a vivid, brilliant word picture." Gingrich, showing a distrust for his fellow Republicans' judgement, saw fit to supply the leaders with two lists of keywords, a positive word list to use in describing themselves and a negative keyword list to describe those evil Democrats..."
I love their "c" word list to describe Republicans ---
"...Chaos, Chickenhawk, Closed-minded, Corporate interests, Corporate malfeasance, Corruption, Cowardice, Crisis, Cronies.."
If those aren't natural adjectives for the GOP crowd in Washington, there never has been any.
http://www.politicalstrategy.org/archives/000013.php But the greatest weapon we have going for us and against the GOP is George W. Bush. That guy makes even many of their most right-wing cronies want to puke. Imagine the effect he must have on younger and more moderate voters. We must not let ANY GOP candidate run without being firmly identified with the POTUS. No matter how much they may try and deny it. That should go for all candidates whether they run for the Presidency, the Congress or the PTA.
We must remember what Lee Atwater said of Willie Horton and Dukakis in 1988. "We'll hang Willie around the little bastard's neck so tight that the American people will think they are Siamese twins". And they did.
If Mrs. Smith is running for city council, we must constantly point out how much she loved and admired Dubya and all of his "..Corruption, Cowardice, Crisis, Cronies.."
Our job in the next 17 months is to hang George W. Bush around the neck of every little bastard who is running as a Republican for any political office --- From the White House to the Court House. And even to the outhouse. Where do you think Republicans came from ?
If we value our country, no victory in 2008 can be too large and smashing.
As an after thought -- the motto for 2008 should be "No Republican Runs Alone !"
