Giuliani: I Misspoke About Ground Zero

By LIBBY QUAID
The Associated Press
Friday, August 10, 2007; 4:13 PM

WASHINGTON -- Republican presidential hopeful Rudy
Giuliani said Friday that he misspoke when he said he
spent as much time, if not more, at ground zero
exposed to the same health risks as workers combing
the site after the Sept. 11 attacks.

"I think I could have said it better," he told nationally
syndicated radio host Mike Gallagher. "You know, what
I was saying was, 'I'm there with you.'"

Giuliani's explanation further angered his ground zero
critics, prompting several to issue a statement demanding
an apology.

"He is such a liar, because the only time he was down
there was for photo ops with celebrities, with politicians,
with diplomats," said deputy fire chief Jimmy Riches, who
spent months digging for his firefighter son.

4. ooops
But I am sure that somehow the Bullshit Media System will not deanscream Guiliani to death for his fucking outrageous lie, just as they will quietly avoid deanscreaming Mitten's massive fox paw explanation for why his rich little brats don't have to bother with that messy eye-rack war.

11. So he thinks he might had been there with them more than the rest of the country?
Is he trying to say that his heart was more sympathetic of the loss at the Twin Towers and the rescue workers that plodded day in day out? The people that watched the news and read the news accounts weren't as sympathetic towards the people of New York City?

18. In A FAIR Media Env. This Would Be His "Invented The Internet" Quote
Edited on Fri Aug-10-07 09:10 PM by Beetwasher
IOW, it would define his campaign and the press would never let go of it. Actually, it should be worse since he really DID say what he's being accused of. I won't hold my breath for fair treatment though.
