6. Wes Clark should certainly be in your poll.
He has remained in the public eye with TV appearances and such. I would not be suprised to see him as VP on somebody's ticket.

10. Wes Clark is the guy who has long been warning us about the push for war with Iran
For that reason alone he earns support, but lord knows there are plenty of others. Al Gore would be great as well.

13. The sad thing for me about this poll is
I would rather vote for Wes Clark, Al Gore, Russ Feingold, Howard Dean, or John Kerry rather than any of the candidates we now are being asked to choose between. After the 2004 election it seemed every one of the above Democrats could have become real candidates for President in 2008, that isn't a fantasy list by any means. Dean took himself out of consideration early to run for DNC Chair, and I am proud of the work he has done there. Feingold flirted seriously with the idea. Kerry for a long time seemed absolutely certain to run again. Clark looked for sure like he was getting into the race when he spoke at the DNC's winter meeting early this year, and Al Gore has been urged by a lot of people to run.

These are all seasoned and progressive leaders. Howard Dean had the least national experience of the bunch but his vision for both the nation and the Democratic Party has been proved correct by history, so that fills out his resume in my opinion. The others all already had the gravitas to make Hillary Clinton look like a Junior Senator from New York compared to them, rather than her current position in the Democratic field of candidates where it is the other front runners who look relatively inexperienced compared to her.

14. That's how I feel
All three of the front runners are one-term senators. :(

Obama is about where Jimmy Carter was in '76, but the other two... :scared:

19. There's a lot to like on that list, XemaSab.
In no particular order, I could go whole-hog for Bill Bradley, Al Gore, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., John Kerry, Russ Feingold, Gary Hart, Barbara Boxer, Bill Moyers, Mario Cuomo, and some others as well.

They're noncandidates but they are major points of reference and resource as we move ahead into the next 4-8 years. Think what a Cabinet we'd have with even half of those folks.

20. I'm waiting for Wes
He's the one that's sorely missing from the scene. The others leave me empty when I listen to the back and forth. We need a leader who knows what he's talking about.:patriot:

I'll always wonder what would have happened in 1984 if the Democratic Party hacks hadn't shortened the primary season and forced Mondale on us...
