Where are all the anti-Edwards threads today?
Or is today's political pissing match on DU only limited to Hilary-Obama?

1. Actually, it makes me happy more-or-less
The whole pissing match thing needs to be confined as much as it can be.

Debate hasn't really worked sadly...I blame one of those aforementioned camps more than the other for a complete lack of debate.

3. Well, looks like you started one, so I'll mention
that when I took a candidate match poll on another thread, I was surprised to see that Edwards supports the line-item veto. I strongly disagree with him on that, as it gives the president far too much power over the legislative process. For example, if an Iraq war supplemental were to pass only with a conditional draw-down of US troops, Bush could take that language out of the bill and receive the money unconditionally.

There you have it. No trashing, but that's my criticism of the day.

5. I didn't even vote one way or another on that
I can see where it could be an advantage and a disadvantage. It does seem to give the president power over the legislative process. But it's not enough for me to withdraw support for Edwards in any case.

6. It's unlikely that any of us will agree with a candidate 100% of the time,
so I see where you're coming from.

I was honestly a little bit surprised to see that Edwards supports the line-item veto. I'd be interested in hearing his rationale. As far as I can tell, the only advantage would be for the party that controls the WH at the time. I certainly wouldn't want a republican administration to have that kind of power over a democratic congress. Maybe I'm missing something, though.

4. Not sure about threads, but I know the haters are out and about.
Only a matter of time.

Meanwhile, we have the other haters to entertain us.
