Zogby: Hillary widens lead in New Hampshire...up by 15 over Obama
Dramatic increase over the last Zogby which had her 2 up...

Sept (May)
Clinton 38 (28)
Obama 23 (26)
Edwards 12 (15)

Also polled the "Hsu" effect on Hillary's numbers

Hsu raised more than $850,000 for the Clinton campaign and is now under investigation for allegedly violating federal campaign finance laws, will this make you more likely or less likely to vote for her?

Less likely 11%
More likely 11%
No difference 78%

So zero affect on her numbers...

2. I didn't expect the Hsu stuff to effect anything.
My guy is running third but I'm not unhappy with Clinton.

3. So really, all this proves, is that nothing is certain in N.H...
I'll buy into that.

4. But among likely caucus-goers in Iowa, Obama enjoys a lead....
According to the latest Newsweek poll, in Iowa - Obama enjoys a lead among likely caucus goers, polling 28 percent to best Clinton (24 percent) and Edwards (22 percent).

Obama is not my first choice; but Hillary is my last. This race is far from over...

8. A question for you...a little off topic
With all due respect SaveElmer, I'm sure you noticed long before now that Hillary supporters are in the minority on DU; yet you stay (thats good!).

As much as I don't want Hillary as our nominee, I will vote DEM in the General no matter what.

Though there is a disconnect between all her poll leads (if one believes the MSM) and her lack of support here on DU???

QUESTION: Do you know of progressive or Democratic blogs/message boards where Hillary supporters outnumber Hillary detractors in the same percentage as her situation is reversed on DU? I just am clueless where all these HRC supporters hang out - even in cyberspace? I don't know any?

Thanks :)

12. It was 200 Democratic and independent likely Democratic caucus goers - the MOE is
being reported as 5% - but it would seem 6 or 7% would be more likely

interesting is the Chris Matthew shows pushing the results of such a small poll - but the Newsweek/NBC connection no doubt is part of it.

7. Even if Hillary Win the Democratic Nomination I Will Not Vote For Her
I have been a life long democrat, a son of blue collar union people, a union leader myself, an environmentalist and a progressive fighting for the right of all people in our Country. That said I can no longer vote for the lesser of two evils - I cannot vote for a sheep in Republican clothing, a corporatist candidate as is Hillary. Sorry fellow Democratic supporters, I'd rather have a real Republican elected (though there really are no real republicans anymore in the mold of Barry Goldwater or Nelson Rockefeller, for that matter.) Hillary was a member of the Wal Mart Board of Directors - yeah remember them before they turned Green? The ones who finance the slave shops in China, the plants with the worst pollution on earth - very Green Huh? Hillary cannot refuse to take money from the Medical Insurance and Big Pharma. Anybody out there in DU land who thinks she will fight for real Universal Health care like in Canada, England, France and many other so called advanced western nations? We all need to give up our delusion about demoncratic candidates like Hillary Clinton. I think of all the demoncratic candidates Hillary would be last on my list of who to vote for. I could live with almost any of them - maybe not Dodd as he is in the pocket of the Insurance and Financial Services industries. I have been supporting John Edwards and hope he can get the nomination. Barack would be a breath of fresh air for so many reasons - but I'm not sure we have enough people in this country who will vote for a black man for president, sorry to say. Seems the corporate media and the republicans are doing everything they can to be sure that Hillary is the candidate. Please, let's not help them. ANYBODY BUT HILLARY!

9. be careful your not enabling a greater evil
Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 08:25 PM by RiverStone
I'm with ya on your criticism of HRC --- believe me, 100%!

But, if she is the last one standing after the convention - she will get my vote. I'm voting DEM in the General no matter what.

She is the most rethuglican of the group, no doubt there. Yet even her corporate pandering, DLC loving self can't be compared to the evil incarnate that BushCo and their minions represent.

My disdain for the pukes far surpasses that of Hillary. From one River to another, not voting DEM may only enable a greater evil to occupy the White House. Even worse, having a puke administration could mean at least another generation of a conservative SCOTUS.

Check out the ages of the Justice's and see who is most likely to exit during the next President's term.

I'd hold my nose voting for HRC; but that vote is far more than just about Hillary; it's about maintaining DEM control of the Executive Branch and appointing a more moderate SCOTUS. That is critical! BUT, lets hope we ALL have a different choice out of the convention!!!

11. OK River Stone - You Got Me - The Supreme Court is Critical!
I was disgusted by those who voted for Nader in 2000 that let that election appear to be even close and worse yet Anderson in 1980 hat let Reagan in! I really hate all this talk about Hillary having such a big lead that it seems intented to discourage the rest of us from even fighting for, let alone hoping for a better candidate. Joe Biden would be Better. Obama/Richardson would be far better. Of course I beleive that Edwards has the talent and excuse the term "balls" to take on the corporatist as he has in his law practice. Women can have balls in their insistance on doing the right thing certainly, and there are many good examples of such women in history. In fact women have lead and cojolhed and forced us men to do the right thing in so many aspect so of life, from our relationships, to children, to community to the environment to peace - look at Code Pink. I am all in favor of a woman President, or a Black President. But, history has also shown that not all women leaders are best for their nations - i.e. Thatcher, Imedelda Marcos, etc. Not all Black leaders are best for their countries - Idi Amin, Mugabe to name two. We need someone who will forcefully represent the interest of the people of the nation not the corporations. Period. Of the democratic candidates, the best of the lot is Edwards in my view. He is not perfect and there is no perfect leader nor political savior. I do hate the idea of republicans running things again and their policies result in the death and destruction of human life and our precious environment. They support wars and blundering of the national treasurey by their corporate overlords. And, they undermine democracies at home and abroad. Would I hold my nose and vote for Hillary, God I hope I don't have to!

10. I have actually changed my mind on this...
I had an moment of clarity today and decided that, if Hillary really does end up the nominee ( I'm actually feeling more and more like she is not), I will end up voting for her. It comes down to the fact that Stem Cell research, for me, is too important to mess around with for another 4 years. I was talking to my dad, who had a massive heart attack a few months ago, and we were talking about how Stem Cell research is his best hope at avoiding a transplant. Thats when it hit me, that there is a good chance that if we didn't have the stubborn Christian right pandering President that we do now, the treatment to help my dad might have already been ready for humans. (The fix is out there, its just not far enough along.)

So while I vehemently do not support her in the primaries, I will have to vote for her if she gets the nod.
