What's freedom and who has it?
This freedom thing is overrated here in America. I know for a fact there are more freedoms in other places, like Europe, than there are here. We are richer than most countries and have more amenities, but we aren't freer. In America freedom has a price and if you have money you can by it. This is the real reason people from around the world come here. They say to the TV cameras that they come for freedom but what they really mean is the money. Just ask any Mexican what it is they come here for -- it's work. If you work in America you make money. If you have money you can have the things Americans enjoy most - cars, houses, shoes, food, services... the freedom to have things, the freedom to move around the country, if you have the money. Bush promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he asked of you in return is your silent, obedient, consent.
Bush wipes his ass with your freedoms, it's called the Patriot Act. The founding fathers, what do they know about the world we live in. Bush pisses on their graves, and those guys that fought and died for our freedoms, in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and both World Wars, he pisses on their graves too. Next time you see Old Glory turn your stupid eyes away. It deserves better.

1. "If you work in America you make money."...NO SHIT!!!
That's what I do and evidently many people outside the US want to come here because they realize it also.

2. The freedom to help keep capitialism alive & well
for the wealthy. Yup the freedom to make money and buy things. Thats about it.

So what have they done for those of us who don't make those big bucks and aren't all that interested in *buying things*......damn good question.

Freedom in the US is an illusion. We are free to work our tails off to survive...to keep the economy going...to fight in their wars.

Remember Bush's post 9-11 words??

"KEEP SHOPPING"

That says it all.

5. If you are lucky, and happen to be working or investing in the
right place at the right time, you can become very, very rich. But if you are unlucky and work or invest in the wrong places, like ENRON, at the wrong times, like during the crash of the dot-com or housing bubbles, then you can become very, very poor.

It is like gambling where the odds are in favor of the house not the gambler, and very few people actually beat the odds. But those who get lucky (and very few do) are considered blessed by God. Those who are unlucky (which is the majority) are considered lazy and shiftless.

6. Freedoms are related to what a people are guaranteed under
their laws and governing enforceable documents. We used to be free but currently aren't anymore since our have been dismantled.
