I have got to give HRC props on Fundraising. But the Real Story is Edwards.
I am firmly in the Obama camp, but by every indication HRC had a better quarter. Cerainly shows signs of solidifying and deepening her support. So she gets props for that. But here is the thing. Edwards only raised $7M. He is really going to need a win in Iowa if he is going to have trouble competing past the early primaries.

He may be in danger of falling into the second tier.

1. The only reason he's ever been in the first tier is his standing in Iowa
Otherwise he and Richardson form a second tier. But as long as Edwards can keep holding his own in Iowa, he'll continue as part of the top tier in the media's three person race.

3. It's about the "pace of the race"....Edwards is doing fine, and he fully understands
his competition.

After all, for over 20 years, his job was to prepare and present his side to the jury.

That took strategy, and patience. Because in all things legal, the other side has equal time and equal opportunity.

i do not underestimate him. And I have a deep respect for one of his top advisors, Elizabeth.

If he does not win the primary, then it is because he lacked the leadership and ability to make his case to the voting public.

Would we have it any other way???

I think not.

2. Edwards is on target for his goal of 40 Million. He has made 30 Million.
Edited on Tue Oct-02-07 10:58 AM by jsamuel
When you add the 7 Million to the extra 10 Million from public financing, Edwards made $17M this quarter and has already met his 40M goal for the entire campaign.

John Edwards has 22M cash on hand.

John Edwards doesn't believe in big money, he believes in big ideas.

4. So you are saying it really is all about money?
Something sad about that.

5. History teaches that you cannot buy the Iowa caucuses
If you don't believe me - ask Howard Dean.

Most Iowan DUers are predicting that Edwards will win their state.

After Iowa, you will see Edwards campaign taking off across the country.

How much would Hillary or Obama pay for that kind of a campaign boost? :eyes:

Edwards has always been my favorite from among the announced candidates.

:kick:
