The Frontrunner Fits ...Hillary
Hillary Clinton raised a total of $27M for the 3rdQ, with $22M for the primary and 100K new donors. For the first time, Clinton beat Barack Obama in the 3rdQ money race and the totals mean she’s raised more than anyone else this year.

For the Clinton camp, the numbers are undoubtedly the cherry on top of what has been a very successful political quarter. This cycle, Clinton managed to expand her lead in nat'l and some early state polls, roll out a health care plan and continue to trounce her rivals in endorsements and debate reviews.

In a "thank you" message to supporters, campaign mgr Patti Solis Doyle said their haul was "substantially more than any other race."

2. I love the fact that she steadily continues forward and upward.
I hear that she has not spent that much yet

It is magnificent to be the front runner and spend carefully. Very, very impressive.

3. A signal DU is out of touch with the rest of the country..
and a great observation made on the msnbc blog:

"The only things Obama could point to as signs of success were the money and the number of contributors. Now that Hillary both outraised him in money and beat him in number of new contributors for the third quarter, all of a sudden that's not a big deal.

Obama's campaign also said many times in April, May and June that he'd be within single digits of Hillary in the polls after September 1. Now that the gap has widened instead of narrowed, the polls don't matter anymore.

The Obama campaign just keeps moving the goal posts. I can't wait to hear them tell us in early January how the Iowa results or the New Hampshire results don't mean anything--especially after his boisterous wife said Iowa's the whole deal.

New politics of hope indeed!"
