I have come out in the past as a supporter of Edwards....
And I will continue to do so...

But if it looks like he can not make any kind of move by December 15th, I am going to start sending my money to Obama...

I can't vote for HRC unless she is the democratic nominee next November...

I see her as being far to cautious, far to wishy washy and about to fall into the Dick Morris black hole of triangulation...

We really need someone who is willing to take concrete stands on the issues of the day regardless how they play in focus group land...

What convinced me was the recent front page article in the Wall Street Journal that bluntly said the fiscal conservatives and deficit hawks who normally supported the GOP, are leaving the Republican party in droves...

Which brings me back to my old campaign slogan when I was running for State Senate back in 1996...

I have the mind of an accountant but the heart of a democrat...

I think I was just 12 years too soon with my candidacy...

I think the country is now really ready for a president that has an eye for the bottom line while keeping out of the bedrooms and living rooms of US citizens...

Someone who will keep fiscal responsibility at the forfront...

Right now, for me at least, that guy is John Edwards...

But if he falters, Obama is just as capable of setting a clear fiscal agenda that also embraces the growing public frustration with out of control deficits and the hypocrisy of social conservatives...

1. I agree with you, but unfortunately I take even a stronger stance
I can not in good conscience vote for Hillary if she becomes the nominee. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was her vote on the Iran War Resolution. Especially in light of saying she learned from the mistakes of the Iraq War Resolution. Obviously, she believes that either Democrats are idiots, or the liberal wing of the party will vote for her regardless. Not in my case, which is why I believe she must NOT be the nominee

2. I'm waiting for Iowa. Edwards has to do well there.

3. Well said!
I can see how you got from point A to point B...

I too cannot support HRC unless she is our candidate next November...

She's way too hawkish, and in the pockets of big pharma and the insurance companies as well...

However, she is still much better than any Republican!

I'm still supporting DK in the primary, unless someone can convince me that my vote might help HRC...

We'll see...

This next year will be a most interesting time for all us Democrats...

5. Why not wait a month and start giving to Obama on Jan. 15?
The day after the Iowa caucuses. I wouldn't count edwards out unless he loses Iowa by a significant amount. Even a close second keeps him alive.

6. I thought about that...
But I won't make a snap decision anyway...

Unless there are clear polling data pointing to an Edwards free fall, I intent to stick with him...

Basically, I feel Obama is not ready for prime time yet, but feel he is much more in tune with the rank and file democrats than HRC...

7. Agreed. My dream ticket would be Edwards/Obama
Obama would bring much of his charisma and popularity to an Edwards ticket, and after 8 years in the VP slot, he'd certainly be ready for prime time.

12. I've given a little to Obama.
I still prefer Edwards, but Obama is still a very favorable alternative.

10. I support Obama now, and would do the same for Edwards.
Those of us that think a Hillary nomination would give us another Republican President need to consider every option, although I would be more than happy with an Edwards/Obama ticket.
