2. I am looking hard
at him myself. He does seem like a straight shooter and is big on upholding the constitution.

7. I'm a fan of Dodd. He is showing leadership lately.
Though my efforts and contributions are centered on Richardson and Kucinich, I sent one to Dodd for his work trying to get habeas corpus restored. My mind would be at ease if he got the presidency. I would have no reservations about him.

8. Sure I like Dodd
However Isn't he the sen. from Conn? What did he do to help Ned Lamont? Allowing Lieberman to get elected is the shame of all those that didn't do enough. Including the Clintons, although none of that will keep me from voting for a dem., it's something to think about.

10. He campaigned for LIARman during the primary.
We waited for him to support Lamont in the GE. He finally came around and did the right thing, and even did some TV ads for Lamont.

You're right, it's shameful. Those "Dems" who supported the LIARman deserve nothing but condemnation. We needed all the help we could get, that includes the Democratic Party.

9. I respect and admire Sen. Dodd!
I've heard him during radio interviews while talking about his book, Letters from Nuremberg, and the role that his father had in setting up the Nuremberg Trials, and I didn't know this before! He's talking about how important the rule of law is, not just for us, but for all of humankind.

'I can't believe that Democrats running for office in 2007 would be running on defending the Constitution and the rule of law', he stated in one interview.

I respect him a great deal, but I really don't get into the "fan" or "hero" thingy, but if I did mine would be Dr. Helen Caldicott! :bounce:

I'd consider voting for him, as I respect the sacrifice his father made being away from home to set-up the trials, and the tremendous gratitude and respect that his father instilled in him for right and wrong, the rule of law, and respect for The Constitution. He seems to be a straight shooter. :hi:

19. He has said basically that very thing in 2 seperate interviews
on Ed Schultz's show. I'm not sure of if/how they handle recordings or transcripts from past shows, but I'll see what I can find.

20. I didn't find it at wegoted.com, but I googled and came up with
this which seems to be the longer version of a more condensed comment that he made. This was in an article on commondreams dated 8/31/06, after they had announced the American Freedom Campaign, and the author is praising Sen. Dodd for his remarks from the day before.

"It's a sad day when a presidential candidate actually has to talk about restoring the Constitution, but that's where we are after this administration's assault on the rule of law - an assault, by the way, that actually makes us less secure and more isolated by weakening our standing around the world. I have said repeatedly that if elected, the first thing I would do after being sworn in is to reverse as much of the damage done to the Constitution by President Bush as possible. And I would immediately do as much as I legally can by executive order."

During both interviews there was back and forth conversation between Sen. Dodd and Ed that dealt with democrats being concerned about this and not the republicans, etc.

He seems sane and reasonable, someone that I feel isn't trying to pull the wool over our eyes to get a vote.

16. While I don't discount the rest of his positions and record,
he actually lost my support for this race in the first debate I watched (which may not have been the FIRST; I don't remember.)

The question was about public education, and, if I recall, was not even addressed to him. He jumped in with a pro-NCLB rant about accountability that slammed the door on this educator's vote.

It disappointed me, as I was hoping he would give the "top tier" some good competition.
