The front-runners balloons are about to burst!
While Hillary and Barack and John play word games, Joe Biden has effectively taken over leadership of this country, literally steamrolling George Bush by out-maneuvering him politically. For all intents and purposes, Joe Biden is now running American Foreign Policy. He took over without firing a shot!

Iraqi leaders, namely President Talibani and Prime Minister al-Maliki–the two top leaders in the country–voice their support for the Biden-Brownback-Boxer amendment, marking a change of thinking and political strategy on the part of Iraq’s government. Misinformation promoted by the Bush administration and its media outlet, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, sent the Iraqi government into yet another tailspin when the false belief that the BBB amendment would, as the Prime Minister had previously said, prove a “disaster.”

Senator Biden acted swiftly to counter the adminstration’s campaign of deception by writing several pieces that were published in newspapers, setting the record straight about his plan for Iraq. He then met with President Talibani and was able to provide Talibani with the facts, both of which actions taken by Senator Biden ultimately led to this sudden reversal on the parts of Talibani and al-Maliki, who now understand that accepting the BBB amendment cannot possibly undermine their relative positions at home as apparently the two leaders had feared it might. In Iraq, if it appears that you are weak and allowing outsiders to dictate policy, you simply go boom.

Please refer to Senator Biden’s press release, below, and let’s get it posted all over the Internet. This is the greatest news thus far, and it would seem to be harbinger of even better news to come.

Press Release

Iraq’s President Talabani Expresses Support for Biden-Brownback Federalism Amendment

Washington, DC – Today, Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. President Talabani welcomed the Senate’s approval of the Biden-Brownback amendment last week supporting federalism in Iraq, on a bipartisan vote of 75-23. He expressed his strong belief that the amendment promotes the unity and territorial integrity of Iraq and is not, as some have mischaracterized it, a call for partition. He also emphasized that the amendment is completely consistent with the decision Iraqis have made to adopt a federal form of government in their Constitution.

In addition, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, speaking in Arabic on Tuesday to al-Iraqiyah Television, made the following remarks regarding the Biden-Brownback Federalism Amendment: “They said they welcomed federalism. If federalism is what they really meant, why not? Federalism, after all, is stipulated in the Constitution. We, too, talked about federalism as this is a constitutional issue.”

Senator Biden said, “I welcome President Talabani’s support for the Biden-Brownback amendment, and also Prime Minster Maliki’s comments. Some – both in the United States and Iraq – have tried to mischaracterize our amendment as calling for the partition of Iraq. It is nothing of the sort. It calls for keeping Iraq together by bringing to life the federal system enshrined in its constitution. A federal Iraq is a united Iraq and the best path to a political settlement that virtually everyone agrees is necessary if we are to leave Iraq without leaving chaos behind.”

5. America is sick of talking heads and computer-generated robotic smiles.
We want a real person, with real values, and real proven leadership to take the helm of our ship of state and bring us safely back to our senses once more. With Joe Biden, you get the President you THOUGHT you were voting for!

about the same population. As I noted, I like Biden, but he doesn't seem to understand the role he would need to play. For my taste, HRC does.

When you have to start a post with "I don't want to sound Republican" its a good bet you shouldn't continue.

34. The "tough shit" mentality towards circumstances especially poverty is evil and wrong.
The poster was the one who phrased it as Republican, though I would tend to agree.

Why I am surprised that you have an affinity for Republicans since you seem to take the American Spectator approach to the Thomas hearings.

Most people do suffer financial hardship due to for profit Insurance middlemen. as well as go into bankruptcy. However Biden Did curtail that Bill, (that was to pass anyway.) to put Children first. please watch this

and tell me if you don't agree that someone needs to "Take on the Insurance industry"- Biden

or the endorsement of other "top tier" candidates.

the highest amount of contributions from financial institutions compared to all the other candidates.
Hillary was next, then Dodd.
Biden wasn't even on that list.

18. "You have to be FOR somebody"
And I am having a hard time making up my mind. Was Edwards, then Obama gave a great foreign policy speech, now Joe Biden is the one with "the message". It's the money that you give to candidates right now that makes a difference. That seems to be how they in the media are "scoring" the election that won't even be held until early next year. The polls are just name recognition in my opinion.

26. Stay tuned . . . the really big stuff is still to come.
By next June, Hillary will be no more than an embittered, vengeful and arrogant pretender as Joe Biden wins the nomination of his party. A nomination in which all Americans will take pride. He's really the only one capable of carrying 30 or 35 big states. And if the GOP runs Rudy or Fred, you can count on that being more like 42 or 45 states. A Biden landslide is what lay ahead for America.

I do not believe that the situation in reality is quite what you are describing is happening....but certainly you have the right to believe that if you say it loud enough and often enough and convincingly enough it may just happen; but for now, it sounds more like your wish. Good Luck with that! :hi:

27. You're a little behind on current events, but once you catch up you may not feel the same.
Biden is going to end this war without leaving chaos behind, necessitating our soldiers who survive living to see their children and grandchildren drafted and dragged off to a regional war with sinister nuclear potential. Biden is right; it matters how we get out of Iraq. There's no getting around it.

People are just begginning to wake up to the fact that no one else out there has proposed an actual plan for doing anything but creating a power vacuum by precipitous withdrawal or continuing a expansionist policy that will not fail to involve this country in a war on the scale of horror of World War II.

30. Actually, I am fairly well read, and attended a lecture by
Wes Clark just last night in S.F. ....in where Foreign policy and the issue of Iraq was a big part of what Wes discussed.

Here's a link to an interview that preceded yesterday's lecture: http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=local&id=5689600

Your simplistic Right Wing originated statement, "wake up to the fact that no one else out there has proposed an actual plan for doing anything but creating a power vacuum by precipitous withdrawal or continuing a expansionist policy" instead highlights that in your zeal to support Joe Biden, you have obviously paid little attention to what the others running are saying. Unfortunately for you, folks are not about to wake up in your universe in where Joe Biden has all of the answers and everyone else has no clue. Good try though! ;)
