Montana Senator Launches TV Ad Criticizing Bush for SCHIP Veto

ABC News' Tahman Bradley reports: Senator Max Baucus, Democrat of Montana, is up on the air in his home state with a commercial whacking President Bush for vetoing the State Children's Health Insurance Program.

The 30 second television ad -- narrator to camera by Baucus -- begins with the picture of a little girl named Abigail, who the Senator says is one of 14,000 Montana kids who depend on SCHIP.

". . .I've worked hard to bring Democrats and Republicans together to expand health care for our kids, and that's why I'm so disappointed that President Bush decided to veto my bill," says Baucus, the author of the Senate version of a bill to expand SCHIP.

a couple of days ago, promising to fight to expand sCHIPS.

There is rebellion in the ranks over this veto, a veto turning out to be about as popular as fire ants at a nudist picnic.
