The more I read and research...

The more I wish Al Gore was running. The closer it gets to Primaries, the sadder I get that he's not.

Still not decided between Edwards and Obama...

But truth be told it would be a no brainer if Gore was in the mix.

1. It's so hard to be enthusiastic about any of these 'front runners'
I am with you on Gore.

Welcome to DU :hi:

2. I wish Gore had run, but the closer it gets to the primaries, the less I want him to
If he entered the race at this point, he would probably draw proportionally from Hillary, Obama, and Edwards, but wouldn't really change the race much. Hillary would still be the frontrunner and with a limited amount of time to fundraise and get his campaign going, Gore would be unable to mount an effective challenge. It would really just cement Hillary's position more than anything.

I'm fully behind Obama right now. He's a great candidate. He doesn't come close to Gore on experience, but he has the same impressive judgement and intelligence which has been sorely missed in the White House over these past few years.

3. South Park already had a show about this very subject
when you vote your always choosing between a turd sandwich and a giant douche. We were fed a line of BS about anyone can raise to the office of prezinut and that prezinuts are looking out for the little guy. Even pukes with their distorted views believe that, I'm just amazed that workers voted for the party of greed and actually believed that a puke would not screw them over.

4. greed's good, but privilege is not...
the gop is the party of privilege. workiing people admire greeed, nasty as it can be, cuz we often feel greedy, espexcially if we find piles of money etc ..but privilege means preset conditions of advantage, iow unfair benefitting while everybody else must fight for it. And that po's the working people (which is why the gopigs deny it as a matter of course)

5. Theres a lot of working class that think the same way, talk to a GM
worker that believes his job entitles him to lord over the neighbor who works in the service side of the job market or thinks that a gas station worker sets gas prices. I've met plenty of GM workers that thought they were elitists, they complain about unions telling others unions are a waste of time and yet refuse to opt out of the union or accept a non union job. Hell I even had one GM worker tell me that I was lucky because I didn't have his bills, without blinking an eye. Never mind the fact that he had 2 homes 3 cars, 2 were new, 1 was a vintage 1969 Fire Bird and was able to go out every night and I sat at home because I couldn't afford a $100 part for my 20 year old car. I have also had GM workers tell me that min wage was something that a person could live off and support their family on. Yet when I asked him why he didn't take a min wage job then, he whinned he couldn't live on min wage.

6. I think the only way Gore would enter is if there were no clear front runner by now.
Ans especially since it's Hillary it makes it even less likely.
How will Gore distinguish himself from most of the same issues that people seem to criticize Hillary for? We can argue about how relevant Hillary's role in the WH was, but there can be no argument that Gore is tied at the hip.

We can see how on the Repub side they have left an opening for a Thompson to get in because the donors and poll respondents were clearly not too happy with their choices. That is just not the case on the Dem side. The amount of money being raised is ridiculous.
