Edwards, Not Hillary, is Dems' Best Chance
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2007/10/edwards_not_hillary_is_dems_be.html

According to the latest conventional wisdom, Hillary Clinton is threatening to turn the Democratic presidential-nomination race into a rout. Key to her current appeal is the assumption that she's the party's most electable candidate. In a recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, 54 percent of Democrats described her as their best hope in 2008. (The other candidates lagged behind.)

There's only one problem with this faith in Clinton's electability: it's wrong. On paper, John Edwards is the party's best chance for a victory, even though his latest fundraising difficulties have made it increasingly unlikely that he will ever be the nominee.

Sure, Clinton often runs ahead of the Democratic pack in polls that track the candidates' strengths against possible GOP opponents. But that's because she has already assumed the role of a nominee, and the others have not. If Edwards or Barack Obama won the nomination, that air of certainty would transfer to either of them.

1. Hillary cannot win.............
If people don't vote for her, no matter what the polls say!

Remember the news has been canceled and also been rigged!

17. John Edwards appears the least conservative of the group except for Kucinich, the liberal.
Edwards still has his plot point to the right of center on the political compass but the left most of the conservative Democrats.

... to tell us that it is over and Hillary has it locked up.

I never remember debates this early and endless campaigning almost 2
years out from the general election.

8. is it really true there are 6 families running the country?

or was that just on the Unit.

But it is surprising "why Clinton is viewed as electable by only Democrats" but non-Democrats don't view Hillary as electable at all.

There's a very different paradigm from Democrats and non-Democrats. There seems to be 2 perceptions of reality, that are in direct conflict with one another. Usually its party politics, but in this case it is over just one person.

It will be up to the American majority to determine which paradigm is accurate.

7. Also in either that poll or another major
poll the one thing folks were very positive about was Bill Clinton.....All those dems that are still so afraid the repubs will be going after Bill should be happy to know this poll degates that because people just like they did in the impeachment tried to tell the right wing not to impeach but they went ahead anyway and this time too if the right wing goes after Bill it will backfire....

Another item of interest is the fact that HRC has gone below the 40% mark in disapproval or unfavorable ratings....Last she poll was at 39% and now with an approval of 53% those numbers are very convincing....

9. I've come to realize that sexual harrassment is a serious issue in the workforce
but during the Clinton impeachment i was in college and did not understand the ramifications of the sexual harassment charges involving jones and lewinsky.

In addition, Clinton had just been re-elected president and could operate "above the law" because impeachment was an unlikely scenario.

But now as a private citizen, Bill will and should come under greater scrutiny for his extra-marital activities. He can no longer hide beneath the duties of the Presidency, but could be prosecuted or sued. I personally doubt he would repeat his transgressions as First Husband, but I believe that great Power comes great temptation and there will be more fish in the sea for him.

It will be certainly very interesting if he gets caught again.

there should never be punitive damages in any sexual harassment case.
