My wife and I went to the last night of the State Fair last night.

Big time final night Cow judging competitions (this is big big big in that industry/world) bunnies and chickens and tapestries and photographs and table settings and corn and pumpkins (1,158 lbs.) and blue ribbon hay bales.

We went by the conventional hall that we worked at in 2004 mostly for some A/C and also to check on the goings on. We had seen a lot of RON balloons (like the OBX stickers with the black oval surrounding it) and I had heard a PA announcement for someone to meet at the "Ron Paul booth"

No Democratic presence at all that I could see :-(

The Repubican Party booth had a petition to get Rudy on the ballot-the primary ballot I think. I didn't have a chance to ask if this was an official endorsement or if they were just given a section of the booth to get signatures.

Ron Paul for President had TWO booths. Lots of yard signs and TONS of balloons around. Granted that is a great way to get your message out-kids love balloons but still they were all over the place.

Could and independent run be in the works???

1. That's too bad. We should have a presence in those things--even in non-election
years. It gives a sense that we care about the community and not just about getting votes for an election. I have seen many Dems here in parades and other community events in off-years recently. And I live in a red state in a conservative area.
