Is there video of Obama at church?
I've looked around and can't find it. I wanted to see it, because a snippet was shown on MSNBC, and one thing struck me - he sounded southern!

Now.... I'm not in any way faulting him for that, but I remember the beating Clinton took when SHE spoke at a black church in the south and was accused of all sorts of pandering and fakery by adjusting her accent.

I thought it was dumb then, but I'm wondering why there's no complaint about another Illinois native using the same tactic.

1. Lots Of Folks Change Their Cadence Or Elocution Depending On The Audience
We, regular folks, even do it...

It shouldn't be an issue, except fot the superficial among us...

3. I agree entirely!
But I'm wondering why one candidate gets pilloried for it, but not another.

6. Many of us Black folks use our Blackcent around one another. . .
. . .its not pandering its natural. When I'm around my extended family, when I'm in a social setting with Black coworkers, when I'm around my students who are Black it just kicks in. But its not something that happens just because I'm around other Black folks, it happens in certain situations.

I grew up in an integrated neighborhood and have friends of all races and sometimes it kicks in around white folks as well.

When I'm working on campaigns, when I'm working with clients, when I'm in front of class or talking to colleagues its goes away.

Its not even conscious. Can't explain it.
