2. What kind of statement will she uncork this afternoon?
Hillary and Obama getting consideration because of factors other than 'qualifications?'

John is the only real Democrat in the field?

5. Some of that,

but I just finished reading some blog news, and she seems to be publicly questioning Kerry's decision again:

"Lynda Waddington has an interesting account of a joint appearance of former Sen. John Edwards and his outspoken wife, Elizabeth, in Cedar Rapids. An Iowan asked about whether John Edwards would fight to ensure that every vote was counted before conceding a general election (harkening back to Kerry’s concession in 2004, before irregularities in Ohio had been fully investigated, and Gore’s concession in 2000, after a fight that went all the way to the Supreme Court). John gave the answer that a candidate is allowed to give: yes, I’ll fight, etc. etc. But then he handed the mic to Elizabeth, who made an argument that John could not have made himself:"

“The votes don’t belong to Al Gore or John Kerry or John Edwards,” she said. “They belong to you and it can’t be our decision not to count your vote. It belongs to you and the promise was made to you that your votes would be counted. That’s the first thing — it should never have been the candidate’s decision if the votes were counted.

Maybe she'll explain what she thinks should have been done, and exactly what legal precedent she thinks would have worked.

6. Elizabeth, O Rly?
"Elizabeth went on to say that, when husband is the likely nominee and placed against the likely Republican nominee, he wins nearly every state. In the same situation, she said, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton wins less than half and Sen. Barack Obama wins less than a third."

Uh huh. You betcha.

9. Elizabeth is going to hurt her husband with this
He , by the way, can not really get away with the "I didn't say it routine" if he is standing there and handing her the mic.

The fact is the vote WERE counted. She is perpetuating a lie because she things it helps her husband. In fact, maybe if JRE knew where there were uncounted votes - he should have told Kerry. They still haven't been found.

Also JRE did not speak out in Nov 2004.

10. I'm surprised that none of the reporters
have challenged her on this yet. She's obviously being very provocative, and she and John have yet to explain how JK could have proceeded any differently.

11. I'm surprised too

I think the reason was that there may not have been any national reporters there - the other time was on Air America.

It surprises me as, because Kerry's ability to assess the viability of a case like this is probably at better than Edwards and it was the judgment of the people who specialize in this.

I'm shocked to be honest with you. She's selling the idea to the American people that John Kerry allowed their votes to be stolen in the last election. It doesn't get much more inflammatory than that.

I hope that JK responds. If the press doesn't pick up on this, I hope that Kerry's had quite enough.

18. I just have a very low opinion of what passes for "reporters" these days.
They let all sorts of ridiculous stuff slide in the 2004 election. Maybe the reporters interviewing the Edwards kind of don't like the specter of Hillary as the nominee so are going easy on challenging the apparently viable alternatives?

I'm not sure there even needs to be a reason, though. Never assume bad intent when simple incompetence will suffice.

16. that actually makes them look worse
Even when Elizabeth Edwards attacked Teresa, neither Kerry responded in kind. Both Kerrys have refused to be pushed to make any personal attacks.

17. I love her too but she has to be very careful so it doesn't appear she is running
his campaign thereby making him look like a little boy and she like his mommy.
