I have a challenge for the Clinton and Obama supporters.

Could each of you cite something you like about the other candidate (Obama supporters about Clinton and vice versa) whether it be a position or an accomplishment? I'm going to try and change the tenor in GD politics a little bit. Are you up to the challenge?

I happen to like that he's adopted/modified New Democrat/DLC policy positions. They're smart and they show people you can offer an alternative to the right wing without going way to the opposite direction.

although I'm not officially a Clinton Supporter, I must say I remember clearly watching Obama give that now famous speech in 2004, turning to my partner and saying "He could be President one day ... seriously". It was amazing.

thing to my husband that night. His campaign has been too careful though for my taste but then I am really left wing except when it comes to the second amendment and there I part with most left wingers.
I understand the need for not upsetting the applecart during a campaign but I am looking for some boldness and vision.

As for Hillary Clinton, well she has run a good campaign if the polls are correct. I just have a gut reaction to her which is my inner voice. Every time I have not listened to that voice, I have always been sorry... but she would be loads better than any of the republican candidates.

I still have not picked anyone as my choice.

I do think it's sad that we can't get through this exercise without some people using it to launch veiled attacks on the other candidate.
I think the only thing that will stop this petty fighting is if members of each camp take it upon themselves to call out (privately or publicly) other members who are causing trouble.

but it actually applies to Obama, as well.

They both have dynamic spouses who won't fall in line with the traditional First Lady role.

Another positive about Hillary, just to play fair. I admire her ability to keep her priorities in check following the Lewinsky scandal. She could have left Bill and thrown her future political ambitions away, but she saw the forest through the trees. That foresight brought her to where she is today.
