4. still_one has it right..there was no "melt down"
by Howard Dean..the corporatemediawhores were doing their damnest to knock him out. Could it be because he said when he got to be president that he would get rid of monopolies of the controlling media?

Yeah, it was..that and Dean was promoting Power of the People..not the fucking corporatewhores.

8. Sorry, but you're wrong on that.
No matter how much you try to blame the media, it doesn't change the fact that Dean DID have a meltdown. He might have survived losing Iowa, but not that and acting like a fool afterwards.

3. Howard was character assassinated but the MSM
and Gephardt ran a Kamikaze campaign against Dean. The Clintonistas didn't want Howard as President because of the progressive/anti-corporate movement that backed his campaign. The Clintonistas are Repuke-like.

5. First they tried to use HRC's laugh like they did Dean's scream,
but that didn't really get the same kind of traction, so yeah, they'll go down the line trying all kinds of 'smears'

12. in Poppy's own words as recorded by UPI
United Press International
"Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush said in Japan he would try to beat the hell out of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if she were to run for president.
Bush may be friends with former President Bill Clinton, but if New York's junior senator campaigns for the White House in 2008, as many expect, I'll be back on the other side (of politics), and I will be trying to beat the hell out of her, if I possibly can, a grinning Bush said in Tokyo, where he spoke at Waseda University's school of sports and science.
Aides to both Clintons declined comment, The New York Post reported.
Bush joined forces with Bill Clinton to raise money for disaster relief, first after the Southeast Asian tsunamis of December 2004, and then after Hurricane Katrina last year. "

so, for what it is worth, i personally believe that all this hell against hillary, wherever it comes from, it is being spun by old poppy himself.

6. It wasn't a meltdown, but she was rude to the voter and defensive about her Iran vote.

10. more yep but more troubling also. Attacking opponet pols good
going nasty to a voter with legitimate questions not good, and possibly indicative of a serious character flaw. We don't need another leader who considers self entitled to make decisions and not answer for them

13. Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean Dean.
It is amazing how he is considered the one most people compare this year's candidates to. Methinks he made quite an impact.

14. He did tell a 70 something year old guy to sit down and listen
the same day Kerry was re-united with Rassmann a few days before the caucuses. Kerry had already pulled even or ahead in some Iowa polls - and those 2 stories likely had an impact.

16. Yes, I think you are right. I thought it was "something" I just could not remember. And it was not
just the MSM that had it "in" for Dean.

The 527 Democrats and Kerry's upsurge, along with the disorganization of the Dean campaign ground forces were some of the ingredients in the Iowa stew.

Now I think I remember seeeing the exchange with the elder man on C-SPAN as they were covering Dean in Iowa.

Dean was very testy.

17. Good memory -
http://www.christiansfordean.info/commentary/BostonGlobeNeighbor.html

<snip>

"It just makes me furious when the political media and the columnists slam, bam, and bash Bush," contended Dale Ungerer, 67, a registered Republican from Hawkeye.

"If you analyze it, how many times did you criticize Bush, but what's the sense if you don't actually say that `My plan involves this and this?' "

Ungerer called on the Democrats to heed the biblical maxim of "love thy neighbor," adding: "Please tone down the garbage, the mean-mouthing, of tearing down your neighbor, and being so pompous."

Dean, who listened quietly, immediately replied, "George Bush is not my neighbor." When Ungerer tried to interrupt, the former governor shouted: "You sit down! You had your say, and now I'm going to have my say."

<snip>

++++++++++++++++

It's a prime example (I think) on how Clinton slipped up in her back-and-forth with Randall Rolph. (except I think it's worse with Rolph b/c he is an active registered Democrat who will be caucusing in January).

Ungerer was a disruptor who picked and picked and picked at Dean until he reacted in anger (just more proof that he had the "angry man syndrome' and could never be President). Rolph may have attended Clinton's event to confront her on the vote (with outdated information) Clinton responded in a harsh manner (and her supporters have responded in kind) which provides fodder for the folks here and in the media about her behaviors.
