Challenge to Gravel Groupies! Post your guy's accomplishments!

Gravel supporters tell DU what your guy has done that either makes you proud or want to vote for him or anything that you just think is important for other DUers to know.

And please keep in mind this is supposed to be a positive thread about a candidate's accomplishments.

There are plenty of other threads to bash the various candidates in.

I am planning on doing one of these for all the candidates. Obama supporters will get their turn tomorrow.

2. I consider Gravel the Ralph Nader of the Democratic Party.

I like a lot of what he says but I know his past actions don't quite match his words. He knows it too. He's just being the person who keeps the rest of the candidates honest.

And his charming (!) No BS way of speaking and telling it like it is. Some people feel he can afford to be less cautious since he's not a frontrunner, but my sense of him is that would be his approach anyway.

He'd definitely a champion of the people and for civil rights and would make a GREAT president!

4. Pentagon Papers, ending draft, stopping nuclear testing, environment

I have a lot of respect for what he did in the Senate and how he did it. We don't see his kind of efforts in Congress very often these days.

Not my first choice, but really, really glad he is there to call out the deliberately muddled responses by others about why they can't stop the war, that they aren't really supporting attacking Iran with their vote for K-L (or avoiding voting at all on it), and similar BS.
