Anyone Else Holding Their Breath For The Nobel Peace Prize Results?
Having looked over the other candidates for the uber-prestigious award, I have a pretty good feeling that Gore is going to take the $1.5 million cake.

Although I'm sure he needs the money, I'm more interested in the chance of him springboarding off the win to take a plunge into the campaign pool.

If he were to do that, I'd throw down my proverbial crutches and start doing some cartwheels down the aisle.

If he doesn't, I'll be able to devote my energy to another hopeful. I'm not saying who that would be, but suffice it to say that I'm a big Oprah fan.

But a Gore candidacy would leave me walking around with a glow worthy of a Love Canal resident.

1. I'm holding my breath for the results of the results

If winning a Nobel causes Gore to enter the race, then I'll be ecstatic. If he wins but stays out of the race, I'll wish him well but I won't really care that much.

4. My feelings exactly
I'll be happy for him in any event, but I'm really hoping if he wins, it'll cause him to re-examine the role he could play in redeeming this country ... What other mountain would be left for him to climb except the one he already ascended but never got to place the flag on?

5. I heard an interesting chat on NPR at noon today
on that subject. One yakker said that if Gore got the Prize there is no way he would enter the race. That the prize would be an albatross for anyone in control of the world's greatest arsenal. Interesting? Maybe. Correct? Everyone has an opinion.

8. There is a romanticized image of Al Gore these days
Because he was robbed of the election and came out in opposition to the Iraq war, a myth has taken the place of the man.

14. Yeah, he fought against the Iraq war and fights hard against global warming.
What the fuck are we thinking for supporting someone like him? :sarcasm:

Supporting someone that voted for Bush's war and approves of outsourcing American jobs is a much better idea.

15. Clinton Supporter??
I'm guessing you're planning on voting for Ms. Clinton, regardless of whether Al enters the race, so we'll take your opinion with a large grain of something.

not that others don't deserve it, but WE NEED AL!

If we don't get him, I suspect our Gov't is not salvageable.

21. They're Announcing Tomorrow!
"Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and Canadian activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier are among the favorites to win the Nobel Peace Prize for campaigning about the threat of climate change, according to Stein Toennesson, director of the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo.

Buddhist monk Thich Quang Do, former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari and humanitarian group Save the Children may also be among the 181 nominations for the 10 million-krona ($1.5 million) prize, Toennesson said in an interview. The winner is announced by the Norwegian Nobel Committee tomorrow."

I do believe if he wins the Nobel Peace Prize and then announced his candidacy, my head will implode from delight.
