Just wondering. I don't think endorsements make that much of a difference to most voters...what do you think?

1. Nope
unless it is someone that has earned great respect like Jimmy Carter.

6. Not even Wes Clark.
I was an enthusiastic Clark supporter in '04, and I still have great respect for him, but his endorsement of Clinton has not persuaded me in the least to vote for her in the primary.

9. Me either
honestly Carter's endorsment of anyone (he has said he would endorse Gore if he got in) wouldn't really push me in any particular direction. I would take note though.

I can actually make up my own mind.

5. I don't know..
I have the utmost respect for Wes. Clark, and I can't bring myself to support Hilary, despite his endorsement of her.
I DID, however, give her another look before discounting her...so maybe you're right.

8. Not at all.
It's MY decision - not theirs. Anyone who chooses a candidate because of endorsements is just lazy.

17. Hell, Gore endorsed Dean
and the other candidates beat the crap out of GORE at the next debate... :eyes:

Didn't do much for Dean either!

13. Not personally. Individual endorsements can be nice but organization endorsements are better.
Organizations can assist in GOTV efforts.

14. No, with this exception:
In a local or state race, if I haven't been able to unearth enough information about the candidate to feel that I can make an informed decision, I'll look at the list of endorsements to eliminate the obvious.

16. No, the only time an endorsement works is if the person who endorses
goes out and works their butt off for a candidate. If they make calls, door knock, write letters. If they go to their supporters and explain why they support the candidate they endorsed it might make a difference. But just saying "hey, I like this candidate, okay, bye now" Nah, doesn't make any difference to me.
