If Gore entered the race, how would the primaries play out?
What would be the effect on the current candidates? Who would he draw from, and how much? Would he win Iowa?

Any prognostications?

3. I haven't seen many prognostications, and it's an interesting political question.

2. I think he'd blow the rest outta the water.
It'd suck support from every candidate to some degree... dunno about Iowa... would have to wait and see.

It'd be nice if Gallup would actually conduct some REAL polls now that he's won this award, so we could find out what the early states would look like with Gore in the race.

4. It would turn into a Hillary vs. Gore race
A lot of Obama support would go to Gore. I don't think Hillary would lose that much except a stranglehold. People on the edge now would probably drop out sooner.

5. Hillary would lose more support to Gore than anyone, but only because there's more to lose.
I agree that Obama would be the bigger loser ideologically, if not numerically.

6. Because she has so much of the numbers
But she can also afford to lose them, unlike Obama.

Gore could never make up for the money and organization she has in place now, though. Even the most ardent supporters can't magically make up for years worth of ground laying for a campaign overnight.

7. I think Gore would pull a lot of support
from Edwards. Many progressives who sadly realize Kucinich can't beat the MSM have fallen back to Edwards. I think many of those would switch to Gore.

8. Interesting. I think Edwards may already be squeezed down to core support, and
and I don't see Gore's appeal as populist, but maybe so.

Obama currently has the Dem intellectual contingent, so I would think Obama supporters have the highest opinion of Gore of any group, but it's hard to know how locked in people are.

(Funny how things change. In 2000 Bradley had the intellectual vote vs. Gore.)

9. And Gore would suck some youth vote
from Obama too. Series.
