How to Make Al Gore President
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 09:57 PM by SharonRB
To all who care about our country and our planet:

On October 10, 2007, Al Gore’s Chief of Staff in the White House said of a possible Gore candidacy, “He’s not ruled it out in the future.” When asked by a reporter what “the future” meant, Neel said, “Sometime later than today.” <http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hZz3lpn7C9NjjE3JdFBuLzSKFS-gD8S6JTAO0>

We can change the course of the future by working together now to get Al Gore to run.

What to do:

1) Sign the petition to draft Al Gore

2) Participate in the “My Two Cents” campaign

3) Write letters to the editor of your local newspapers

4) Join an existing Gore group or form a new one

5) Send this e-mail to at least five people.

How to do it:

1) To sign the petition, go to http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/algore2008/

2) To participate in the “My Two Cents” campaign, send a letter to Al Gore telling him why you want him to run, and tape two pennies to your letter. Explain that you’ll send real support when he becomes a candidate. Send as many letters as you can to:

Office of the Honorable Al Gore

2100 West End Avenue, Suite 620

Nashville, TN 37203

3) Write a letter to the editor of at least one local newspaper explaining why Al Gore should run for president (i.e., leadership on global warming, right on Iraq from the beginning, world-wide respect, etc.). Make the letter heartfelt.

4) Join a Gore group in your area or form one if there isn’t already one. Go to http://www.algore.org/get_involved/gore_groups and enter your zip code, and see if there’s a group near you. If there is no group in your area, consider starting one of your own by following the directions. If you have problems joining or forming a group, contact Karen Wunderman at krw@superlink.net.

5) Send this e-mail to at least five people on your e-mail list. Also, consider printing out hard copies of this letter and distributing them wherever appropriate.

Thank you on behalf of future generations and our planet.

Sincerely,

Steve Robinson

2. Al Gore aint the problem, the Democratic Party is the problem...
He gets the message loud and clear. He knows. It's not a secret.

But what really stands in his way?

Clinton and the Democratic Elite.

He knows this.

8. "How to make Al Gore President" again...
...Just wait a few years and with some hindsight, Congress can retroactively impeach the MuleEmperor Magnifico and his all war orchestra; erase him from the history books--write in the name of the real winner of 2000-- Nobel Peace prize winner, Oscar winner and the inventor of the internets, the one, the only, Gore Vidal's little cousin, Al.

10. Step 1: vote Republican in 2008

No, I'm not joking, and nor am I criticising Gore. However, Gore is more likely to become president if you vote Republican in 2008 than if you don't.

Gore is almost certain not to run in 2008 - I'm sorry to spoil your party, but it's true.

It's unlikely, but less unlikely, that he might be persuaded to run in 2012 or 2016 - after all, that leaves more time for his mind to be changed.

But he won't run in 2012 if a Democrat wins in 2008.

Therefore, if your sole goal is to accelerate a Gore presidency, vote Republican in 2008.

I hope you won't, though, and that if necessary you'll set your hopes on Gore 2016.

11. No way will I vote Republican
If he decides not to run, so be it. I will accept his decision and respect him for it. If it's not 2008, it will be never, I'm afraid. If we have a Dem president, they will hopefully serve until 2016 and by then it will be too late for him.

13. I want Al Gore to run, but only if he wants to run
His heart has to be in it. After all the smears he has endured for winning the Nobel, I wouldn't blame him if he didn't want to run. It would be 10 times as bad.
