Obama calls out Giuliani for doing work and getting paid by Citgo (Chavez)!
MSNBC just reported that Obama called out Giuliani for the work he has done and gotten paid for on behalf of Citgo. This was in response to Giuliani cricizing him for saying he would meet with leader like Chavez, Castro, etc.

Barack's campaign basically called Rudy a hypocrite.

7. Here's the comment from the campaign:
While Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton do not think we should engage in the type of strong diplomacy practiced by Ronald Reagan and John Kennedy, Obama does. And given the hefty fee that Hugo Chavez's oil company paid Rudy Giuliani's firm, he apparently thinks we shouldn't talk to Chavez, but it's fine to take his money.

17. Kind of ironic that I typed that.
I have never used it before and may never will again. But sometimes I like to pretend I'm still young!

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwned

Pwn is a slang term that implies domination and/or humiliation of a rival. It sprang from the similar term "owned" and is used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent that has just been soundly defeated. Examples include "pwnage" or "you just got pwned". It can also be used, especially by non-gamers, in the context of getting "pwned" by The Man.

In Internet security jargon, to "pwn" means "to compromise" or "to control", specifically another computer (server or PC), web site, gateway device, or application; it is synonymous with one of the definitions of hacking. An outside party who has "owned" or "pwned" a system has obtained unauthorized administrative control of the system.

The term was one of 16 to appear on the 2006 "List of Words and Phrases Banished from the Queen's English for Misuse, Overuse and General Uselessness," released annually by Lake Superior State University.<1>

The word "pwn" may have arisen and spread as a typo (or fat-finger) of the word "own," arising from the proximity of the 'p' and 'o' keys on a standard English keyboard. Sometime in the 1980s, along with the advent of the hacker phenomenon, "pwned" became a synonym for "hacked" or "taken over by exploitation of a vulnerability." The word "pwn" remains in use as Internet social-culture slang meaning: to take unauthorized control of someone else or something belonging to someone else by exploiting a vulnerability.

Digby has this report on the ghoul from yesterday..
" Standing Their Ground

by digby

Brave New Films has released a powerful new film today about a subject that has the potential to knock Rudy Giuliani's campaign to its knees. Most of us know that the NY Firefighters are mad as hell at Giuliani, but this films starkly lays out one very serious reason why: the radios.

Giuliani came into office in 1994, shortly after the first WTC attack. He knew then that the radios didn't work properly and yet it took him seven years to deal with the problem. And when he finally got around to it, he gave Motorola a sweetheart, no-bid contract for radios that were never tested in advance. When the NYFD got them, they didn't work and they had to be reissued the same radios that had proved inadequate in 1993.

That's why, on September 11th, the firefighters didn't hear the warnings to get out of the buildings. The cops heard them. They mostly got out. Their radios could get the right frequency. The firefighters' old radios couldn't.

In perhaps the most chilling moment of the film, the audience gasps in horror as Giuliani unctuously testifies before congress that the dead firefighters were heroes for "standing their ground."

This man is basing his entire candidacy on the fiction that he is a great "wartime" leader who can keep the country safe. But it's clear that although he had eight years to do it, he couldn't even provide necessary equipment for the first responders in NY. Why would anyone want him to lead the most powerful country on earth?
These firefighters' families are tired of waiting for an explanation and they are asking for an investigation. The Real Rudy reports:

26. I'm okay with it as long as Obama is limiting this outing due to hypocrisy, and
not because he's getting all right-winger about Citgo.
