Folks...bookmark this post. Hillary is going to win by a landslide.
And I'm not just talking the primary...she's going to win by a landslide the likes we have not seen since Ronald Reagan was first elected.

Count on it. Bookmark this post for reference next November.

We are going to win BIG TIME.

9. It will be Clinton.
And yes, it will be a landslide and historic for several reasons. Of course, it will be the first woman elected President. There will also be a greater number of women voting than in any other election by far, and over 60% of them will vote for Clinton. The third reason it will be historic will be the sheer power of the Democratic landslide. Not only will a Democratic President be elected, but we will make significant gains in the House and Senate as well, setting the stage for long-term Democratic dominance in national politics.

7. Out in the real world, that isn't much of a prediction.
She's leading the Republican candidates in the head-to-head match-ups. Rudy is slipping, Fred's candidacy appears about as dead as he looks, McCain is insane, and Mitt is...well...Mitt.

I think that the trend started with the '06 elections could very well carry forward to '08. If so, success won't be limited to the presidency. We should make gains in Congress and in other levels of government, as well.

I also think she will make a good president.

15. Hillary WILL LOSE in a GENERAL ELECTION!
She is to abrasive and MEN in the SOUTH (and OHIO) hate her. The rethuglicans will have a field day hacking at her. Independent women voters will leave in droves as the attack machine moves into high gear. There is no way she will be able to break the stigma of being to harsh. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

20. She will win for a lot of reasons, but she won't carry the South, so no landslide.
Hillary will not carry Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Idaho, Kentucky, Kansas or Utah.

She has a fair shot at Florida, West Virginia, Arkansas, Missouri and Virginia.

She has a slight shot at Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska and Idaho.

She will most likely carry the rest of the country.

She will take every state that John Kerry took and she will also pick up Ohio. That's spells victory.

Still, I hope that Hillary and Bill will work out a good relationship with Howard Dean whose 50-state strategy has proved to be the long, hard way back toward big victories for us as it did in 2006. We may not get the landslides yet, but we still can't ignore states altogether as Terry McAuliffe did putting all the resources into Florida which was very, very stupid.

I also share your upbeat assessment of Hillary's chances against any of the GOP candidates. But she won't carry the states I mentioned in the first paragraph. Not this time.

But, that said, I hope you are right about the landslide and that I am wrong.

25. I really doubt it. I think the Democratic candidate - which is looking to be
Hillary - will win, but I really, really doubt it will be a landslide. In today's landscape of relative political parity, I think a victory of five points or greater would be considered spectacular. A landslide, though - 15 to 20 points or greater, I'm just not seeing it. In the 1988 election (an election the Dems were favored to win), Gary Hart had a 20% lead over Bush and a 15% lead over Dole in the January 1987 national polls - none of our 2008 candidates have achieved this over the 2008 equivalents - Guiliani and McCain - and 2008 should be a tougher year for the GOP than 1988 was (although - in fairness - the Democratic Party was stronger in '88 than it is today, just now climbing out of a 12 year wilderness). Honestly, I think - AT BEST - we could hope for a 5 to 7% victory no matter who we run.

I see all these posts "In your face -- Hillary's going to win" but I don't see any of the posters saying why we should vote for her. Makes me very suspicious, because the ONE CANDIDATE the Repukes would LOVE to go up against is Hillary. They have NOTHING to run on but Hillary hatred, and that's why they want her desperately.

Name one brave thing Hillary has done in the last 6 years.

36. Well, if Hillary's the nominee, I hope that she wins
But I'd put all the money I have on the outcome definitely *not* being a landslide. I'll be happy if whomever our candidate is breaks 50-percent of the popular vote. Considering the last Democratic candidate who did this did it more than 30 years ago, that'll be progress in my book. And I can guarantee that there are at least a dozen to fifteen states that none of our potential Democratic candidates will win regardless of whom their opponent is, so at least at this point, an Electoral vote "landslide" (unless something along the lines of what Bill Clinton managed in '92 and '96 is considered a landslide) is also out of the question.
