2. I Was Looking At The Internals
They confirm the conventional widsom... Both McCain and Rudy do well with Indys... As long as the Democratic candidate can stay competitive among Indys he or she will carry the day because there are just more Democrats...

3. Mcain and Rudy
I don't see McCain getting the nom. Rudy has a better shot. I almost hope we get Rudy in the GE, I think we can stomp the piss out of him.

4. Sometimes It's Fairly Easy To Predict The Eventual Nominee
I don't have a clue this year on the GOP side... I think it will be Rudy or Mitt... McCain is too much of a renegade and Fred Thompson doesn't have the juice...

truth about each other in their negative ads I can see McCain sneaking through as the only actual high profile republican in the race.

(The Kerry 2004 model)

I agree it is unpredictable.

8. I was calling this for McCain from the start
It would be weird if he winds up getting it after all.

I really prefer going against Rudy, though.

11. Polls mean nothing at this moment
They don't start to mean anything until January when the first actual human votes are taken.

16. This is about as useful as predicting the winning lottery number
Stuff changes all the time. A poll 13 months before the election is a waste
of time, money, and hot air. Of course, as Fox has an excess of hot air, they
have enough to spare. But even so. I wouldn't put it past them to not even
have conducted a poll at all, but just make the numbers up to gauge the reactions
of the reactionaries, so that Rove could plan accordingly. If their dedication
to truth in polling is on a level with their dedication to the truth in general,
then granting them any credibility at all in this poll is risky business at best.
