Now that Iowans will caucus with hang over from New Year's
Eve - but not on High school football nights - will Florida and Michigan be allowed to send delegates, since they will vote after Iowa and, apparently, New Hampshire?

1. Florida never tried to go ahead of Iowa or New Hampshire
So, that's not the issue. Florida set their date at Jan. 29th, the same day as South Carolina's, but Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada were still too weeks before them.

So, the issue wasn't that. The issue was that the Florida Democratic Party agreed to the DNC rules (no primary before March 5th), then said "Fuck you. We are going to do it anyway". As far as I know, the rules haven't changed as far as states that are NOT the first 4 states (Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina). So, I would guess my answer is be "No, we aren't going to be allowed to send delegates. We had 30 days to work it out and the Florida Democratic Party chairwoman, Karen Thurman, said "No deal!" even then".

Serves us right for allowing a former Republican to "switch to Democrat" and lead the state party.

2. I certainly agree with the sanctions
however are you sure we are talking March 5th?

Seems that every one and his uncle is now having a primary on Feb. 5th - the "tsunami Tuesday."

3. ACK! No, you are correct!
I got the month wrong. My brain has turned to mush trying to keep track of it all. March 5th is my parents 41st wedding anniversary. That must be why I got that date stuck in my head!!

Either way, Florida only tried to go ahead of everyone else and do it the same day as South Carolina, leaving Nevada, New Hampshire and Iowa ahead of them. Michigan tried to jump ahead of everyone, except IOWA(I think), but I wasn't paying as much attention to what happened in Michigan, since I live in Florida.

I agree with the sanctions, too, even though it means that I don't get to choose a nominee. I don't see that Dean had any other choice but to sanction us. I put the blame squarely on the shoulders of Karen Thurman (chairwoman of the Florida Democratic Party).
