So ... condemning the Armenian Genocide is harmful to relations with an ally
during a time of war ...

but constantly spouting that the Soviet Union killed more people than Hitler (every time worker protections come up, or trying to pay for the war) is not harmful to a current ally?

3. I don't know why it upsets the Turks.

The Ottomans nearly succeeded in committing genocide of the Armenians. Shortly thereafter the Turks successfully rebelled against the Ottomans exiling them from the new nation of Turkey.

So the current government of Turkey destroyed the people who destroyed the Armenians.

4. You should check out "armenian genocide" in the Congressional Record
they've been condemning it for decades ... but hey, since it's a Democratic proposal ...

5. That is Correct,
however just like the Soviet Union, the concept of a successor state applies.

6. Perhaps the ally it would offend
is not the Turks.
