3. I read somewhere this morning a news item
saying he has staff seriously looking into what it would take. You may get a candidate, after all :D

What Colbert must do to get on the primary ballots for president (in South Carolina)

Democrat:
..."He would have to file a letter of intent to run. Either have a check cut for $2,500 or have 3,000 signatures to us by Nov. 1. Then he would have to get approval from the South Carolina Democratic Party’s Executive Council.”

GOP:
Pay a $35,000 filing fee and meet all U.S. constitutional requirements to run for president. They include: Being a natural-born U.S. citizen, being at least 35 years old, (and) being a U.S. resident for at least 14 years


Well, that says it all, doesn't it? The GOP cares only about your being able to pay the freight. The Dems not only charge less, they'll accept the support of actual potential constituents instead!
