We need enthusiatic support for our candidate, not just a ho-hum "better than the Republican"

If Democratic voters had been more excited about either Gore or Kerry, would the Republicans have been able to steal the elections?

1. True, but that was a historic improvement
And the best voter turnout since 1968. I bet we'll do even better in 2008.

3. Where did you get 36%? It is @45%
Also, 45% didn't show up for McGovern vs. Nixon. Was McGovern a "ho-hum better than the Republican?"

4. I was using a Washington Post site.
The discrepancy comes about because some use the number of registered voters as a base and some use the number of all people over the age of 18 as a base. A lot of people aren't registered.

5. The way Pelosi and Reed are acting, I might just stay home, too.
Wy bother even voting if the people I vote for are going to behave exactly like the people I vote against.

I'm damn near giving up on politics entirely. I want to fight the good fight, but apparently neither our congressional nor senatorial leadership cares to.

Why should I care if it is pointless to?
