2. People need to be held accountable when they countenance bigotry
Holds true for Mrs. Clinton, as well.

If either of them want to be taken seriously as advocates of respect and acceptance and equality, they need to disassociate themselves from public appearances with homophobes.

3. Yet these "haters" are the same ones who whine and moan when she
is criticized.

They are a funny lot, indeed.

19. You don't get it. It's okay to hate on Obama. But Hillary is the
sainted one. Duh.

:sarcasm:

4. Any of the candidates would be receiving the same treatment
Edited on Sun Oct-21-07 11:25 AM by Kurt_and_Hunter
It's a hot button issue, and until the campaign addresses it in some way it will remain so. After that, I imagine it will fade, assuming it is addressed well.

It's a pointed thing because Obama's most devoted online supporters tend to be very strong on LGBT issues. Much of the outrage seems heartfelt and not the usual tit-for-tat candidate bashing.

In any event, I am sure the Obama campaign will respond in some way tomorrow. Until then, I'm happy to assume it's not representative of what he's trying to do with his campaign.

5. Meh...
Just his turn. Last week or two, it was the Hillary haters
that were out in force. I am sure since Obama and Hillary are
the 'leaders' so far, they will catch the most flack.
I have seen Edwards bashed pretty hard at times too, though
not with the fervor that the Obama and Hillary haters attack
with.

8. Not sure where you got race in this thread. . .
. . .Obama is being criticized for touring with a minister who claims he used to be gay and while I still support Obama I'm disappointed in his association with this pastor.

7. Oh, those Hillary Lovers!
They're havin' fun, dancin' around.

This makes them happy. This is their idea of "democracy in action."

9. To be honest, I'm frankly disturbed at the amount of homophobia displayed...
I've had one person call Homosexuality a "preference", another said that Homophobia is a basic Christian belief, and when I challenged them on it, with, you know, facts about denominations that don't believe that way, they dismissed those denominations as businesses, I guess another way to say they aren't "true" Christians. Not to mention the numerous people who dismiss this as irrelevant, when it is anything but. Oddly enough, throughout all of this, I confined my criticism to the guy who I have the dishonor of sharing my first name with(Donnie).

As a Clinton supporter, I find this thread laughable! And I am sure why no explanation is needed.

13. Why, it's almost as bad as Hillary's best days here.
It's just so awful that his supporters might get as good as they give.

I'm sick of the Hillarites and Obamans both saying "oh, why are you so mean to my candidate" in half the threads, while saying "Your candidate rapes nuns with squirrels" in the other half.

18. Personally, I'm sick of the attacks on both of them.
Here's a novel idea: both Obama AND Clinton would make a good president. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! What a concept!
